I think my time trial on this track speaks for itself as why I don’t like this track.
https://mkpc.malahieude.net/map.php?i=227345
It’s just the worst track in mkworld, but there’s barely anything on the track, including no walls, meaning that you can just drive in a straight line to win.
Also anything by Team Nintendo. All their tracks are really bad some even have stolen, have a bunch of random and poor decors, with barely any of them being on the track. This one is especially bad, because there’s no indication on which route to take.
https://mkpc.malahieude.net/map.php?i=227898
Also the fact that they make so many different cups and tracks a day makes these tracks feel like garbage slop (but not ai slop so at it has that)
Also all the recent multicups by “Qxxxxxxxxxxqqqqqqqqxxxxxxxxqqq” Which is already one of the worst names on the site. All their tracks have little quality and nothing to make the tracks interesting. Along eith all their multicups having a ton if useless clones of the base game characters, with the only change being the minimap icon and that their all named after skylanders. Here’s an example of one of their garbage multicups. https://mkpc.malahieude.net/circuit.php?mid=16037

Oh yeah I did forget to mention that I will be making a track for this. I won’t grade it myself, although obviously other people can rate it with my system. It will be thrown in with the other tracks during the voting period, meaning that I could win. Anyways I’m making going to try to make a Lakitu theme airship that has a route changing every lap. I might not even finish it because my main priority is to finish SsgK.

Also there is a little bit over 10 days left to get working in you tracks.

Hello this is an old idea of mine. But I wanted to bring it back because I liked it quite a lot. This is the Chains Track Builder Contest, but I’m doing it again.
How it works:
The way that this will work is every 2 weeks, you people will make tracks out of a theme that you kind of choose. (I’ll get to that later) Then at the end of the 2 weeks, I grade them on a scale, pointing out what I like and don’t like about the tracks. Then we start a new theme, with the community voting for 1 week on the tracks from the theme that I graded

Why is it Chains?
The reason why this is the chains tbc, is because the theme actually has people choosing 1 thing to have in their track from three rows of three, essentially forming a chain of requirements that you pick. To keep it simple, the top row will always be a character to theme your track around (like Mario, Daisy, and even some more interesting characters like Honey Queen). The middle row will always be a theme (like Desert, Underground, and Space). And the bottom row will always be a gimmick for the track. (like a 5 lap course, open section, or must include a 4 path section)

Rules:
Here are the rules for the contest and why they exist:
1. No Quick Mode: This exists because it is nearly impossible to do this idea in qm, and leads to bad tracks because of the limitation.
2. The track must be made for the contest: This is to prevent people from just plopping in one of their old tracks with no effort.
3. No retros: This exists for a similar reason as the no qm rule, because retros are just way to hard to implement the gimmick for.
4. When voting for your favorite track, you can’t vote your own track: I don’t think I need to explain this, anyone who does this will just have their vote not count.
5. You can make as many tracks as you like, but could receive lower scores: This exists so that people can make a track with all the unique ideas, since there’s 27 unique combinations for each chain, but the lower scores is just to prevent mindless spam.
6. State what you are choosing at some point before you make your track: This exists so that I don’t have to play detective in order to figure out what fits the track, although this one isn’t required if you make it obvious enough.
7. No stolen tracks: Don’t steal tracks, it’s bad.
8. Anything not stated here could still be rule: I usually forget things so this is just to ensure that people still know that other things could be rules.
Grading system:
For my grading system I will use a simple ranking out of 100 to get scores, the tracks will be graded off of these factors.
Gameplay _/40 This is how well the track plays, obviously if the track isn’t fun then you’ll get a low score here.
Visual _/20 This is how good the track looks.
Creativity _/15 Does the track creatively use the constraints provided.
Usage of top row _/5 How well does the track with character you chose
Usage of middle row _/5 How well does the track with theme you chose
Usage of bottom row _/5 How well does the track with gimmick you chose
Miscellaneous _/10 This is just general stuff, like music and backgrounds.

Theme #1
Now with that we have the first set of options for you to make chains out of, remember you pick 1 from each row. These are:
Top row:
Lakitu, Waluigi, and DK.
Middle Row:
Ships, Snow, and Temple.
Bottom Row:
Different route each lap, Must have a section with a lot of boosts. and at least 1 forced tele-porter.

If you’re still confused here’s one idea that you could do, A DK (top row) track where you explore the jungle, then you go intro a banana temple (middle row) only to end up venturing to far deep and taking an escape pipe (bottom row) out by taking you back to the starting line.

Anyways get making and this theme will be over on 8/1/26.

Rating your Retro Tracks.

Gameplay 26/35. I’m not the biggest fan of this, The track feels really wide at certain part and then theirs the really thin bridge. It could definitely use a downscaling.
Visual 19/25. I like the simple style, it’s pretty good.
Is it a faithful recreation OR does it add to the original 22/30 The scale is off from the original Broken Pier, as well as some of the bridges being removed, the overscaled issue also applies here.
Miscellaneous 6/10 I mean, it’s alright
Total score 73/100 C
Sorry for being so late, anyways keep on submitting tracks.

Gameplay 32/35. Overall, the track plays good, it’s got some fun gimmicks, I really like the trick able bumps in the moon
Visual 22/25. It looks good overall, but some parts are blurry. The fact that you added more unique sections visually boosted the score here.
Is it a faithful recreation OR does it add to the original 28/30 This is a great rendition of SNES Rainbow Road, I like the fact that you added new sections to make the track interesting. I do kinda wish that the thwomps were a different color, it would be more accurate if they were rainbow
Miscellaneous 9/10 The general aspects are really good, but not perfect.
Final score: 91/100 A

Gameplay 31/35. I think it’s just my monkey brain, but I just like doing all the tricks on the ramps.
Visual 19/25. I’m not a huge fan of the style, but the colors are nice.
Is it a faithful recreation OR does it add to the original 26/30 This is a good recreation of the original n64 version, (the better one) I think it would be interesting if there were rising tides that allow for you to occasionally take a tighter line.
miscellaneous 9/10 The music is good :)
Final score: 85/100 B
Both of these were solid tracks.

Hello. I’m noticed a lot of people making topics like this, where they rate others tracks. So I figured that I’d make one exclusively for retro tracks.
This is simple, you send me retro tracks and I rate them using a system.
Here are the factors that I will grade on:
Gameplay _/35. This is just does the track play well.
Visual _/25. Does the track look good and fit a style. (Also is the image original and not stolen).
Is it a faithful recreation OR does it add to the original _/30 This depends on if the track is meant to replicate the original, or reimagine it. Depending on which one it is, you will either be graded on how faithful of a recreation it is, or how much it adds to the original while still being the track.
Miscellaneous _/10 This is just general stuff. For example, backgrounds, music, readability.
This leads to a general rating system out of a 100. With the following grading system.
S (99-100)
A (90-98 )
B(80-89)
C(70-79)
D(60-69)
F(0-59)
There are also rules because people always break obvious rules when I fail to establish them.
Rule 1: Must be a retro. The track must be a retro of an official nintendo track, no recreations from other racing games or a remake of your nitros.
Rule 2: No spamming. Don’t submit all of your retros at once. Submitting more than 3 at a time will lead to your tracks having a lower chance at being reviewed.
Rule 3: Must be your own tracks: You cannot submit tracks that are stolen, the most common example is the base image being stolen.
Rule 4: Must be complete mode: No quick mode tracks, they’re way to simple I don’t want to give out a ton of low scores.
Rule 5: Follow Forum Rules: This is self explanatory, make sure your track follows forum rules.
Rule 6: Don’t complain: If your track gets a low score, it’s not because I’m purposely hating on you, usually I try to give constructive criticism
to help you improve.
Anyways submit your retros and I’ll rate them.

Hello, I kept on procrastinating on making this topic, so I finally made it. This is the official topic for SsgK, where I will post updates about SsgK. This can include when new cups get posted, teasers for new cups, Update to SsgK in general, DLC if it happens. (still unsure) This will be general discussion for SsgK, where you guys can share constructive criticism, maybe even report bugs in the tracks. After all 48 tracks are made, I will also host events for SsgK, such as tournaments and events for everyone to participate in.

If you don’t know what SsgK is, check out the official demo here, https://mkpc.malahieude.net/map.php?mid=15902 it’s a good starting point for checking out the first 2 retros and nitros.

If your lazy to see the demo here’s the summary:
SsgK is a multi-cup series by me, consisting of 6 nitro cups and 6 retro cups. It contains 24 brand new courses, and exactly 3 returning tracks from every mario kart game. The main goal for SsgK is to create new tracks with fun and creative ideas while revamping old courses to give them a new feel.

Here is all the cups so far. https://mkpc.malahieude.net/map.php?mid=15952 Make sure to check up on this for whenever new cups get added. This will also currently be used for any online play on SsgK tracks.

Anyways, you can start chatting about Ssgk now : )

Hey ssg can you add some oobs back like the shy guy falls one that I discovered it's very difficult even in 150cc you gotta rely on 4 pixels or 3 and you have to angle just the right angle and the hardest part is to stay there it's very difficult to keep on while rding I lose control alot

Sorry but I’m gonna have to say no, at least in the Shy Guy Falls case. I would prefer if tracks didn’t have giant unintended shortcuts. But I will try to make future tracks have more fun and interesting cuts like the shy guy falls one, but not as broken (like the one on Rosalina Circuit).

The Leaf Cup of SsgK has now been posted. This cup is the 4th retro cup if the 6th and includes the following tracks:

Wii Daisy Circuit
GCN Mushroom City
SNES Vanilla Lake 2
N64 Banshee Boardwalk

You can play the leaf cup here: https://mkpc.malahieude.net/map.php?cid=74835

Just for fun I want for people to guess what the remaining SsgK retros are. I’ve already stated that SsgK has 3 retros from every game, leaving this to be the selection (and yes it’s already decided):

0 SNES tracks
1 N64 track
2 GBA tracks
1 GCN track
1 DS track
1 Wii track
1 3ds track
1 Wii U track

I’ll even give a check to anyone who gets just one track right, though I won’t say which track, to build suspense.

You don’t need to make entire topics for tracks, I don’t really know what else to say, it’s kind of pointless. It would make a lot more sense if these were for a multicup (assuming you just make the topic for said multicup). Edit: the tracks themself are fine, nothing good but not the slop that I sometimes see on the site.

Why does none of the tracks from legacy games of Mario kart never gets to a booster course dlc or Mario kart world?

The SNES BC3 remake in wave 6 proved that Nintendo can do good SNES remakes and I want to see more like it. There’s a lot of cool ideas that could be done with a SNES tracks. Nintendo just needs to put actual effort into the SNES remakes, which they rarely do.

Orientation... WHAT?????

I was actually playing MKTour a couple weeks ago. (Got really bored) and I realized that the game would go great in arcades. Think about it, the main goal of the game is to get the highest score on a track. The two laps make it shorter and brief for arcades, along with having controls similar to the other arcade mario kart. The aspect ratio (in portrait mode) is could be put on an arcade machine. That’s a cool idea that I had. Anyways I’m gonna miss it, but not that much (it was good for like 2 months and then got boring.)
