In 2014, the online tournaments of Mario Kart Wii had to stop, and that means Galaxy Colosseum had to go. But with Wiimifi, you can play online again with others. But I tried and don't know how to get a BootMii NAND backup. I folowed this tutorial:

If you see any bad blocks, it will do another check to fix the bad blocks. If I recall correctly, the first scan had about 20 bad blocks, and the 2nd scan fixed all the bad blocks.
