What is a Useless Topic?

It's time to answer this once and for all! I want genuine discussion and no nonsense... but I know that is pretty unlikely. This time, I'm not gonna start, you are.

But like how do you not know what a useless topic is?

See, you really can't know what a person counts as useless. Everybody has a different opinion and perspective and I want to know them all, that is why I made this topic! Now do you have an opinion or not kid!

I believe that a useless topic is one that could fit into Space for Anything, which is made to stop clutter iirc. Examples of these useless topics are topics that have the creator just say hello because they are new, topics where someone asks a very simple question and basically any example of a super simple topic you could think of that could fit in to Space for Anything.

A topic that has no subject like "I ate cereal this morning" or something that's complete nonsense that can fit into Space for Anything. That's what I consider a useless topic.

A topic that's like "I petted a mouse : D"

Topics that either endorse spam or could really just be said on SFA
Imo topics really need to have a purpose, saying stuff like "I found a muntjac on the side of the Phnom Penh highway :3" doesn't and could really be said on SFA (of course, I also don't endorse being rude to people who have made useless topics, just tell them that it could be made on SFA and why that is, a lot of the community is much less egocentric than you'd like to believe)
Topics like "Post your personal projects here" don't fall under this category because they declutter SFA if you get what I mean, like they don't endorse spam and rather just make the forums more manageable
Tl;dr - Not every message needs a topic and not every topic needs something to be said 24/7. If you see someone making useless topics, just tell them nicely that it's against the rules and why the topic is useless without resorting to rudeness, then report the topic using the report button on the top message

I do think this should be pretty obvious but okay
Really anything that is one message or something that would easily fit on Space for Anything, there's more to it I can't think of rn but other people on here have probably said those other things

A topic started by a forum kid who doesn't even play the game, instead message farming beyond belief, about something that doesn't matter, who then gets defensive that their topic about being friends was called dumb and pointless.
Also stuff that just belongs in the space for anything topic, which was designed to get rid of clutter, like Jade and FryGuy said
Sounds like something I know

so basically a useless topic is something that is random and just doesn't deserve to be a full topic
like a random sentence for example: I ate ice cream today
that could fit on SFA, not a actual topic itself. its a waste of time and pollutes the forum page

Okay, now that we have answered that question, we can move on to another. In your own (and hopefully humble) opinion, what makes a topic like... say, "Talk about Everything With An ABC Twist" or even my topic a useless topic?

ABC was used for message spam and had no true purpose other than making pointless messages.
While this topic has a purpose, it could have easily been a question asked on sfa.
However, if you find a useless topic you should just report the topic to moderation rather then message on it calling it a useless topic.

I beg to differ! See, Mikutown HAD a reason to create the topic and it was clearly never intended for message spam. The REAL culprit of all of this is in the people who answered on the topic like most fandoms including this one. And let's be real, NOBODY would even give a passing glance if it was on the SFA. So in conclusion, your point is moot and I win!

WRONG
The ABC topic's name is: "Talk about everything, but with an ABC twist"
Talking about everything means lots of spam and pointless messages, the only rule is that you have to follow the ABC chain, which they do...while spamming!
Mikutown's idea was very clever, but she presented it wrong, because she didn't count the spam there could be...
Also the difference between SFA and that topic is that SFA doesn't allow to spam and say pointless things in it, or you'll get a warning (or banned if you already have warnings). SFA is also made by moderators and they very surely punish the spammers and the authors of useless messages.
The ABC topic instead, hasn't the spam rule in it, so this spam thing was kinda expected, + it is not moderated just like SFA, so some spam can slip up by...
Finally SFA is a very big topic, so there could be some newbies that can ruin the chain.

Talk about stuff in a "cool way" = spam = useless
if it's facepalmed at all by normal people*, i'd say it's useless, weird, or just plain stupid.

ABC was used for message spam
I never said the topic was made for message spam, I said it was used for spam. You spent most of your message arguing the same point as me. Regardless, even if there was a point to the topic, it didn't offer much substance and could be argued to be pointless, as many messages could be contained to SFA.
And let's be real, NOBODY would even give a passing glance if it was on the SFA.
As most people argue, a topic is useless if it's content could easily be contained to SFA. The argument isn't that the messages are entirely pointless (they were, but that's beside the point), it's that the topic was useless as it didn't offer anything with substance other than, just say what you would on SFA, expect the first letter has to be [insert letter here].
Even then, if we want to make the argument that nobody would care about those messages if they were on SFA, I would make the argument that a few of them would be called out as useless messages, especially the one word messages, random phrases and messages that were just greetings.
So in conclusion, your point is moot and I win!
First of all, this wasn't established to be a debate, just a simple query, so I don't see how or why there would be a "winner"
Secondly, I believe that my point is not moot if the sentiment was shared by other users, especially when you spent a majority of your message arguing "It wasn't made for message spam, just used for it", which is the same argument I made, minus the argument that it would be hard for the topic to avoid useless messages based on the brief.
See, you really can't know what a person counts as useless. Everybody has a different opinion and perspective and I want to know them all, that is why I made this topic! Now do you have an opinion or not kid!
I find it funny that you said you wanted to see people's opinions on what a useless topic was but started arguing against an opinion and saying you "won". It seems to me that you want to demonstrate that your opinion is superior to others (it is not), rather than have an honest discussion and learn a "different opinion and perspective" that people may have.
So, in conclusion:
