The amount of these slurs spammers is too much to the point where my theory is that they are all the same person using vpn

They can't all be the same person, as I said sure of them are alts but there are many trolls online who put such names as their username and I honestly doubt it's only one person, especially over the span of 6+ years: who the hell is still interested in making these after 6 years?

Wouldn't it be efficient to create a system that keeps these people from creating accounts that have inappropriate usernames?

Why don't we just blacklist inappropriate words from usernames? That would be easier for moderation.

Just create a list of words that people cant say and use in their username, and if they try to use them in chat or for their username it just doesn't allow them to, that would be easier than just banning for the moderators.

pretty sure someone made a suggestion on fiery's topic about mkpc update ideas where if you try to put a slur or inappropriate word in your username, a little popup text similar to the one that appears when you block / ignore someone would say "This username is inappropriate."

The fact that there is a generally big community of just people who have the n word in their username or people who just spam the n word in online chats

Create a blacklist that bans all slurs and nsfw words (including misspellings) to be censored in online chat, forums, and usernames
React up if you agree with this idea that will prevent users from being innapropriate

I suggested it on the Discord server already, and you basically restated what Durple said

Lately there has been an issue with more and more players creating profiles with innapropriate usernames such as slurs, curse words, NSFW words and so on. This has been an ongoing issue since forever, but it has slightly increased. New members are actively trying to report these accounts, which we ban and sometimes rename.
However this topic is becoming way too important and blown out of proportion now. Some members have reported over eighty accounts at the same time and asked us for a ban and a rename. Most of these accounts had their last activity between 2019 and 2023, which means they are not accounts that are currently causing harm to the community.
As moderators, it is our job to ban such accounts in order to keep the site appropriate and prevent as much harm as possible on this community. However, these accounts are no harm and just went unnoticed. It is unnecessary to report them and ridiculous to expect us to actually ban all of them. There are so much of these.
So the conclusion is that reporting recent accounts that you stumble across because they are actually active is fine. But do not search up these accounts on purpose, it is a waste of your time and of our time.
Thank you.

why are so many people making innapropriate names and using innapropriate words
WAIT A MINUTE
they could likely all be the same person using vpn
are they tho
Most times they're shitters that play from school pcs during their free-time, but since they don't really care and just come to play, they just put the most vile shit as username then log off once they're done playing... Not much can be done about it, adding a username filter would cause more problems and would not give full protection
So the best is to just report 'em and we'll take action
