- Brainrot didn't start with Skibidi Toilet, it's always been around (e.g. Annoying Orange and MLG)
- It's not as bad as y'all are making it out to be lmfao, it's just that more people are taking umbrage to it (which I personally find stupid, if you don't like it don't engage and move on with your life, it's not harming you to disengage)
- Humour is subjective, some people may find it funny even if you don't (which is more than fine)

True but also wrong in the history of first brainrot and how old brainrot is what modern sound being told what it is. First brainrot was YTP standing for youtube poop where it's funny edited video's started by a hotel mario edit and old brainrot is just random xd humor new brainrot original meaning of meme that's why animation meme's are called memes so that why.

Those were just examples of how brainrot isn't just limited to Gen Alpha focused media? I don't see how using an example that wasn't the first instance is in any way invalidating my point

Bro Ytp's should have been your example in first place why mlg's and annoying orange everyone like mlg's and no one like annoying orange.

So does that not make annoying orange a good example if nobody likes it?

Well no cause even child didn't like it so

Not true, since it clearly needed a fanbase to get millions of views and to continue being made. Furthermore, children, such as yourself and the others in this topic, clearly hate the current "brainrot" so I don't see how that invalidates it as an example. I'd even argue it's a better example than ytp, which wasn't opposed by as many children as modern "brainrot" nor referenced by so many children

First: reason why fred and annoying orange were in show's and movies because of hate watchers. Second: I'm 18. Third: I like brainrot and I explain why it's actually not supposed to be funny because how is skibidi toilet not supposed to be a bayverse story. Fourth: but back then for some reason say that ytp's not funny and that's why people slow down and 4chan decide to you know what threats to someone because they didn't like them and 4chan was half of internet and other half was facebook ,tumblr, and etc.

1. Hate watchers generally won't be enough to push something further. A large proportion of viewers would have liked it.

2. Alright, but my point still stands that children are opposed to the modern "brainrot", so I don't understand how this is a counter-point.

3. Skibidi toilet was certainly not planned to be a long-tunning series, it was initially made as a joke. "Brainrot" is supposed to be funny, but only to young children with short attention spans and unrefined senses of humour, hence why Italian "brainrot" and examples such as annoying orange were enjoyed, they are made to appeal to very young children.

4. I haven't seen much hate towards ytp's, although if there was I am fairly certain ot was from older people, not children, which doesn't counter my point that most examples of "brainrot" are despised by some groups of children. Furthermore, I don't think 4chan was "half the internet" and I don't know of any examples of death threats coming from it towards ytp content creators. If you have examples please share them as evidence.

On YouTube there's too much brainrot. YouTube was only made for sending videos for around the world, to get subscribers and stuff, but now, it's gotten haywire

Dude, I'm not brainrotted.

Honestly brainrot is a bit of a reductionist term, it seems to imply that finding something funny or engaging is definitely going to negatively affect your intelligence, when there's several other factors at play

I get what you're saying, and agree wholeheartedly. And you're right, there are other factors, and I believe one of them might be parents letting their kids overuse iPads.
And you're right about the thing with finding something funny not always contributing to illiteracy. It's not about what exactly the videos comprise of, it's how the videos are used by the public. Those that get abused become widely known as brainrot. But there are always a population who are not as affected as others in one area, but become affected by another.
So I do agree with you, sorry if I sounded rude.

The brainrot apocalypse started in early 2023, with that unfunny toilet series.

brainrots  been around since the internet first started, unfunny mass sharable media that serves no educational purpose is considered brainrot and thats always been around its just increased in the more recent years of the internet.

It almost certainly existed before then, and it's not gotten any more prevalent, it's just that more people are taking umbrage to it because they need something to blame for children's neurological development being a lot slower than it was before, simultaneously failing to realise that there's way more factors than just media catered to their demographic, and that neurological development tends to get slower with each new generation anyway 💀

Btw, that much quantity of brainrot forces people to be lobotomized by it.

That's sad

Fun fact, the word that inspired this one, probably inspired the word "cartón" that means cardboard in Spanish.

And "картон" - cardboard in Bulgarian.
