Doesn't improve shit frankly, unless your entire design philosophy for anything is higher quality = more better. But that's how you make a soulless game, one without a style or anything to make it memorable. This game is not made as "the most more better mario kart game ever!!11111 UHD 4K 120fps you literally need 100gb of storage to install this game and a $11037 gpu" it's what it is. Nothing's particularly impressive about MKPC and it's going to stay that way whether you like it or not. Can you let a game be fucking good? MKPC's sound design is already super inconsistent but this would be going way too far. We are not missing out on SHIT by having different mp3 files in different places. If it bothers you soooo much, go set up a local override. I think we've all heard it, there's no need to post the fucking sound effect in this topic. People are not so clueless that they can't just look it up and realise oh fuck that wouldn't work or just be people who know about Mario Kart games playing Mario Kart ganes
If this game was based on SMK, King Boo, Wario, Daisy, Shy Guy, Petey Piranha, Hammer Bro and Link won't be in this game!
It is based on SMK but these are extra additions. Changing sounds would not be additions, they would be complete changes compromising the aesthetic of the game.

What are you even talking about ?? And even then, the sounds won't change considering this is still a SMK based game. It has forever been that way and nobody thought it was that much of a problem, so it is not going away anytime soon. Cry about it. You not listening and still being stubborn while making a fuss about this will not change the ending result.
They used the Mario Kart 64 lap sound which I wish it will be replaced by the lap sound in Mario Kart 8 and 8 Deluxe.
SMK does not have a lap sound so they used MK64 lap sound it's how it was and will never change.
However, despite this, MK64's lap sound is NOT the standard lap sound. The standart lap sound is the one from Mario Kart DS.
