that's actually a good idea. I might add to Cups, with the ability to have more than 4 Circuits in a Cup, instead of just having exactly four.
Coins should also be added, acting similar to Super Mario Kart's coins.

I explained the few updates I suggested in previous replies.
In Multicup and Cup mode, you should be able to add Custom music for the Title, Character Select, and Award Ceremony. that would be cool. 
I would also recommend, that if you miss a Checkpoint, Lakitu will say "Wrong Way!" and either, drop you back at the Missed Checkpoint, or guide you to the checkpoint.

Simply make it a matter of 2-dimentional perspective. That simple. (Simply make the ends a trickable surface or allow rotating trick pannels)
