Why are coins in Mariokart 8 deluxe they suck

I just hate coins so much they distract me against other people even bots.

IKR? You take a route for a few extra coins and end up lower and it's hard to get back up!

erm actually coins make you go faster.
But I agree, coins SUCK!

One time I wanted to go for 10 coins and instead of that I got hit by cpus and wasted time and got last.

You guys really need to learn game design, coins are in the game to add more depth, for an example say the coins are a bit slower than taking the regular path (not a lot slower just a little bit as it is with most tracks in the game) then do you go the faster route and immediately get ahead or do you grab the coins so you over time have a higher chance of getting ahead

The difference in speed coins give are actually pretty damn big so it's a genuine choice you gotta consider, take faster lines now and get ahead but ultimately miss out on that speed boost coins give or grab the coins and got a bit slower once and then you're faster than the one who didn't grab the coins

Basically coins are a very good mechanic that adds depth and strategy and this post is very dumb
