This is literally wrong. The happiest and safest city are both ranked as Copenhagen by numerous sources.

Idk much about Abu Dhabi. I know about Ferrari world and Yas Marina Circuit and that's pretty much it. But I do want to visit someday to explore the city and watch the F1 grand prix.

I went to Copenhagen as well. Everyone seemed happy and it looked much better than any other city I've been to. The stats that listed Abu Dhabi as the happiest city also listed Cape Town as the 3rd happiest and as someone who has been to Capetown, that it blatantly false. The stats probably only take into account a small proportion of people, likely the wealthy, which push it in favour of being positive.

When the city that includes massive slums is listed as the 3rd happiest, I think the stats may be a bit off.

I think this is only really true for rich and straight people. As someone who's travelled quite a lot in their life, I can give examples where people are happy regardless of socioeconomic standing, such as Copenhagen (Denmark), Gothenburg (Sweden), Reykjavík (Iceland), Barcelona (Spain), Lappeenranta (Finland), Berlin (Germany), Amsterdam (Netherlands) and Lisbon (Portugal). From what I've seen and what I understand, people are happy because they're able to express and embrace who they are without fear of judgement or oppression, which simply isn't true for a highly classist and conservative country like the UAE.

This would still affect which cities are cited as the happiest, as a city (especially the capital) and by extension a fair amount of the population is fairly likely to adopt or be influenced by the country's overall values and stances (unless you're Roscommon, apparently). It's the main reason why African, Middle Eastern and Southeast Asian cities don't appear as frequently on happiness index ratings as Northern European ones. There is definitely some personal bias involved, but they don't tend to submit these kinds of things without reviewing them fairly extensively.

Copenhagen and Cape town are cities and both of them can be used as examples to disprove this statement. Copenhagen is commonly listed as both the safest and happiest city and I doubt much has changed and your source of information lists Cape Town as the 3rd happiest while it has massive slums and the population there seemed much more unhappy than in Copenhagen, from my personal experience. This would imply that your source of information is simply inaccurate and likely has bias or doesn't take certain groups into account.
