Thank you for welcoming me. Just to clear it up, backward drifting is turning using Ctrl, isn't it? and you get a speed boost for holding it right?

If it is what i think it is, then we just call it drifting, or more commonly, manual, because that's what it was called in Mariokart WII, and I still think that that is one of the best games in the world.

Also, it's called drifting (even though it doesn't quite work the same) in the first Mariokart, on the SNES, which I also have, and i think it is the HARDEST racing game i have ever played.

I think there is a startup boost, it just isn't detailed as most of the boosts aren't either
