You may think it's just a Mega Mushroom roulette icon. Well, it's a duplicate of the sprite used in item wheel. That sprite is present in "mkpc/images/items", while the one I'm showing right now is from "mkpc/images/map_icons", suggesting that there was an idea of making the Mega Mushrooms being droppable like shells, mushrooms, banana peels and stars (though the sprite was added before the possibility of stars being droppable was added).

I found these unused cup icons which aren't even available as default ones in multicup editor (but you know how to still use them).
Also, Golden Dash Mushroom icon is called "speciale.gif", which suggests that Golden Dash Cup was supposed to be Special Cup.

Update!
I made the new versions of roulette sprites with a bit polished spikes and, most notably, wings!
- Blue shell using my palette

I think they're very good overall, in my opinion the game needs a lot of sprite updates

Just some time ago I noticed that you also removed glare from the roulette sprites.
That definitely looks better now.
