Cool website, but it literally states that it's an example roster to show you how to use the website, nothing more(it has some good picks admittedly, it also has some stinky ones, like why is James Mcloud there, he's literally dead, that's like the whole point of Starfox as a series) & it's literally true that the ARMS producer told Sakurai that he wanted Min Min personally. It's in the direct. Harada is only implied, but Min Min is confirmed. They also ran a poll, & Min Min was most popular in the game as a whole. Add in the fact that Sakurai was considering her himself, & yeah, you'd see why. Not to mention that the creator himself declared that everyone is the protagonist & Spring Man's main argument goes out the window.

Ah yes, well renown character heav. Assuming you mean Heavy he may be a good pick, however Nintendo don't like the use of guns, so he would need to use more of his different weapons, which may seem against the characters ideals, being "heavy weapons guy"
Honestly, I'm not sure whether he should be in Smash or not, if he takes moves from spin-off titles he may be fun, but I don't see the appeal of the character.

In any case, so much of the cast needs a modernization/rework, I think they should do that before considering other characters(they could maybe include legacy movesets as well as an option), but there's no reason for Mario Odyssey's representation to be just a Taunt & a 'sometimes regional coins appear' on Up B. Ganondorf still has a lot of Falcon's attacks, Samus is outdated, Kirby is sorta as well but I don't think they can change him, Smash is an ability after all, Zelda is outdated, 3 of Sonic's specials are the same move, Mega Man is only using attacks from the first 3 games for some reason, Shulk's arts don't even work like that in Xenoblade, there are other Street Fighter games newer than 2/3, why are they still the same as 2/3, etc. etc.

He already has a lot of the Crusade/Flash 2 characters listed(Phoenix Wright, Toad, Petey, Chun-li(although she's pretty obvious for a spot), Crash, Bomberman) hell he's got Mr. Incredible which means he played SSF1 at some point
EDIT: Yeah there's no way he's not just parroting stuff from other fangames, he's got SAKI listed & Sin & Punishment hasn't been seen in nearly 20 years

Also Tetromino is in Crusade now, they could just reuse that moveset(ideally with a different Up B)
Also there are plenty of gun characters in Smash already(admittedly the regulations changed after Joker got added so they're not allowed to mention the source material by name if the rating is too high(which is why it says Dante instead of DMC in the Mii trailer)

Yeah, Crusade is a bit newer but still really old (2014).
There's another one I think, haven't heard about it in a while & it was just getting started back then, I'm sure there are others too.
Either way, Flash 2 hasn't been updated in a hot minute, they finally came out of the lab with some cool resprites & stuff, new items etc. for the next update(hopefully soon) but some very stupid ppl are being hateful & there isn't that much drive for them to keep working on it instead of Fraymakers(which actually makes them money, Flash 2 is free ofc)
Crusade got updated as recently as 5 months ago, the game itself is really good, lot's of characters, stages, music, mods are easily addable, there's a MUGEN styled modpack called CMC that has...too much stuff, to be honest, it's on version 8 I think(the modpack) & it's like 8GB now if you're just starting(I haven't downloaded it, simply too many joke characters for me, I also don't like anime characters in Smash either, so when I play Vanilla Crusade I make sure to avoid picking Goku & Vegeta, also Weegee)
It's very polished and has a ton of features(still waiting on them to re-add ZSS tho...)

I've heard of Crusade, and have played Flash 2 for quite a while, but neither of them let you make custom fighters & stages as far as I know...
The stage builder in the official games is alright, but is a little limited...
So yeah i'm waiting for a Smash PC game with fully customizable fighters and stages alongside you, man.

Crusade doesn't have a built in way to make stuff, but you can make anything you want if you have the sprites somewhere. You just need to take another character as a base, copy & paste them and then just replace the copies stuff with yours(VFX, SFX,GFX,DMG% etc.) Getting a mod to work in the actual game is incredibly easy(and is actually intended)(the final step, not the spriting), but your not supposed to tell anyone what to do(emphasis on supposed).
If you want to mod Crusade, check Gamebanana. There are also SSF2 mods there, but I here the process is more tedious.
There is still no built in way to make anything, but that will probably change.
Regarding the unlockable characters

I swear sometimes when I finish a cup in 1st I either get a character or get nothing. I have 6 or so cups completed with gold trophies but only 4 characters unlocked (Koopa, Waluigi, Shy Guy, Birdo) and 11 locked racers

Make it not be one of the characters in the 2 custom character slots?
That won't solve my problem with online races.
If you want to get them out of the slots, you just need to use more custom characters to push them out.

With the two of my current CM multicups now past 50% completion, I'm starting up my third one, which might attract more attention than the others.
Mario Kart PC is really fun, but a lot of the base game courses are really tight & sometimes un-enjoyable, especially on 200cc, which is less played, but still there. So, my plan is:
To do re-imaginings* of every track in the base game to make them more playable in 200!(And also diversify how the ones with multiple versions look like CTGP & Retro Rewind do)
* - Citation needed: "Reimagining" is stretching it.
This will also include making courses look more inline with their renditions from MK7, MK8 & Tour(using the logic presented in the Booster Course Pass, where Waluigi Stadium & Peach Gardens, tracks seen in Wii, have had some changes, showing that anything from that or earlier is fair game.)
It will also include(after approaching their creators directly for permission) more characters(Mario series only)
And the most requested feature ever in this game:
The 3DS tracks!*
* - Will I ever get here? I might cancel it before then...
And lastly, I'm grabbing newer versions of songs/remixes off of Youtube for the music to fit the tracks looking less dated.
