If unleashed has poor performance on original hardware there is literally zero chance that recompilation could ever work on 3ds without very significantly optimizing the game to the point where it'd be unrecognizable, not to mention the fact that the 3ds has very different architecture to modern pcs so the entire way the recomp works would have to be redone
I know there is a fangame that's basically a remake similar to the wii version in the works though



Anyway I have spent the past two weeks playing nothing but unleashed recompiled lol.
I also played the wii ver a bit over a year ago, but i won't talk on that because it is the opposite of fresh in my mind
I don't know if this is recency bias or the fact i've been stuck with generations for a long time or what, but i find the daytime gameplay actually a lot more fun than generations, it is way faster and the level design particularly in bonus acts is very devious, but super fun to learn, even despite the much worse air control this game has. It's incredibly pretty also, and I have this on like, very low graphics settings (laptop is old and meh). I didn't hate the werehog levels tbh, I wouldn't replay them much for fun though, but they don't feel like they disrupt the game during a playthrough (with the exception of a couple stages being awful at the level you're usually at by then. Arid Sands). Boss fights for a sonic game are honestly not bad, even if it feels like all the day ones are the same thing. Although the final boss is horrible. I vividly remember it also sucked in the wii version, but it didn't make you redo the egg dragoon if you game over on dark gaia iirc. At the very least it is super cool. If I can make a recommendation, please use a mod and remove the medal requirements, because I have literally played every daytime stage casually and I only have like have the sun medals needed to get into jungle joyride day act 1, the requirements are actually absurd. Overall though very worth playing even if the actual playthrough can be difficult, the post game stuff is awesome, and sonic really does feel really good and really fast in this.
