I think the Cosmic Highways are ment to be intermissions in the first place
No, actually.
The concept for Cosmic Highway predates Mario Kart World's announcement by a few weeks.
Now I wouldn't say, "I came up with intermission courses two weeks before Nintendo did!" because in the OG Cosmic Highway, you raced around the highway instead of on the highway.
You'd go in a circle around the highway and planets, maybe jumping over it from a nearby asteroid, but it would be nothing like what we have now.
When I saw the Nintendo Direct, I thought it would be neat to reference the new game, so I just tweaked how Cosmic Highway and Rainbow Road worked.
Your concept seems like it’d be better than what they are now. You could’ve fit those things into the newer, more intermission-esk design

Also question: do the intermissions have to end with 1 lap of the track? I was already gonna do that but just making sure
The easiest way to do so is using sections, but you can have multiple laps by adding multiple sections using checkpoints on the same spot on the other track.
Thats not what im asking, im asking if you HAVE to do a lap (or more) basically im asking if you must end with at least 1 lap of the track

1: You Must send both of the normal tracks and the Intermission Version.

I sense an interesting challenge that im willing to do! Although none of the normal tracks have been created, so it’ll take a while, BUT IT’LL (hopefully) BE WORTH IT.
Im planning on doing this for a multi-cup that I haven’t announced yet (and still wont until the time is right), and my CTGP PC. All tracks in the CTGP are community made, which i’ll put on a map like MKWorld and also add the straight line sinul- i mean intermissions. As for my own multi-cup with my own tracks… im not telling you yet as that shall stay a secret for reasons already mentioned.
