Honestly, it could also be GCN Mario Circuit, but the cleanness of the map makes me think its from MK8
Of it was gcn Mario corcuit, it looks like it would have to be mirror mode

2.) my question is: which mushroom cup doesn’t start with a circuit?
I didn't count the backgrounds, otherwise it would be 12 circuits
(Peach Circuit, GBA Rainbow Road, and GBA Battle Course 3)
Guess there was one I forgot and replaced with peach circuit, didn’t know it was in gba rainbow road (thought that was just a random fortress) and battle course 3 isn’t a circuit
