Funnily enough I've always gotten the opposite vibe from the internet, the DS version is a forgotten novelty in the face of the original due to its many changes and aforementioned control issues.
Interesting that you mention the controller issues going away when played on a 3DS, as in reality, they technically don't get better. The circle pad just emulates a D-Pad, so you're still "locked" to 8 directions (and Mario and co. don't instantly snap to the direction indicated ala 3D Land, it's more of a gradual turn). I guess some people get the placebo of better control by having a stick under their thumb.

Waluigi Pinball suffers from casuals ranking looks and concept over all else. No doubt I would be constantly trash-talking it if that's all it had (like I do MKDD), but luckily it plays fairly well in both MKDS and MK7.
Waluigi as a character suffers from underexposure and so he's seen as this crown jewel that every game must have or it's automatically bad and every Ninty shit-licker will complain about his absence for the next 5 millennia. I'm like 90% sure there are still people whining about Waluigi not being in Smash Ultimate. Had he been given as much screen-time as the Koopalings, no doubt people would be begging for him to stop being in games!


The game controls pretty well and the tracks don't actively work against said controls (most of the time anyways), so I'll agree with you there.

I've outlined most of them before (my love of Partners in Time, my low opinion of Mario Kart Wii, my love of Brawl, etc), so I'll quote those posts and throw some new ones in.

-I feel the Wario Land series desperately needs a new game, I loved Wario Land Shake It when I was younger and the fact that there hasn't been a follow-up since then (nearly 13 years) is baffling.
-The Nintendo Switch is the biggest waste of potential Nintendo's ever done since the Virtual Boy, they take a great concept and stuff it full of ports and sequels that don't do anything new.
-This isn't exactly Mario-related but might as well include it anyways. I may rant on how the Mario Kart series has become oversimplified since MKW, but I don't think anything compares to the rapid fall from grace that Pokemon has. Bear in mind these games weren't hard to begin with, but most everything from about HG/SS onward seems to have been made deliberately easier, possibly due to complaints of excessive non-linearity in D/P, to the point where I've personally sworn to never give another dollar to Game Freak and The Pokemon Company for the foreseeable future, possibly forever if they keep going down this path. Legends looks promising as I've said before but Game Freak and co. will find a way to fuck it up somehow.

There's definitely more, but either they aren't Mario-related (the whole "Fortnite bad Minecraft good" thing is a scourge upon mankind and has actively made me want to play Minecraft less), too minor to really matter (The Galaxy games are a bit too linear for my liking, especially Galaxy 2), or just aren't on my mind at the moment.

Yoshi. Pretty much has been that way for the past 10 years and I expect him to remain my favorite for the foreseeable future.
When I've had him as half of my online alias for damn near a decade (Wazz is a shortened version of Wazzupyoshi, which originated back on my Roblox account), it becomes fairly obvious.

To be fair I think only a couple tracks have this issue to the point where it makes the track unfun to play. Granted, my home turf is MKSC and MKDS, so I could be a little biased in that assessment.

The issue with graphics is that you really can't retroactively criticize them. Like yeah it looks like shit compared to the technology we have now, but a) that's part of the charm and b) in order to compare it fairly, you have to compare it to consoles of the era.

I don't know if you mean controls or the controller. If the former, that's a game by game basis. If the latter, the Gamecube controller is probably the best thing Nintendo's ever done in terms of controllers.

Aftermarket mods always exist, but even then the Wii had some great looking games. I'll always reference the opening sequence to Planet Wisp Act 1 in Sonic Colors. Even with standard composite cables, this looks amazing even 11 years later.

Not exactly the main issue, the issue was the crappy name as well as lack of third party support. The first party support may be kick-ass, but it's the third parties that draw the outsiders in, and if you can't get those, you're done for.

This I'll agree with at least. Nintendo's online servers were never great, being either Nintendo WFC (RIP) or Nintendo Network, and putting a paywall behind them hasn't fixed the issue. This combined with Nintendo's increasing anticonsumer practices and the worst first party support on a home console (which also throws a giant middle finger to Wii U owners like myself, being that 90% of the first party offerings are Wii U ports, as well as the best selling game on the Switch being a Wii U port), effectively killed any fanaticism I had in the company. Splatoon will always be there to tempt me back in, but they have a long ways to go.
Shoutout to the first real home console offering of Pokemon that made me swear to never give a single dollar to Game Freak or the Pokemon Company ever again. The series had been on a downward trend since X/Y anyways, and this represents the absolute nadir of the mainline Pokemon series up to this point.

As resident Pokémon nerd, I might as well give my summed up thoughts on it.
-Pokémon Unite on mobile sounds good but I'm probably not going to play it, heard there's a lot of issues with balancing, plus it isn't my preferred genre of game. Maybe if curiosity gets the best of me I'll give it a try one day.
-I don't really care about Pokémon Cafe.
-I don't really care about Pokémon Masters.
-The new Pokémon Go event seems pretty cool. A couple new Galar mons plus the S/S box legendaries are always welcome.
-I'm actually pleasantly surprised at the amount of content shown in the Diamond and Pearl remakes. Granted, I have the originals so I don't feel a need to get them, but for now I'll give it  a cautious recommendation if you don't have the originals. If you have the originals, I'd wait for more info, if they will give any more.
-New Switch Lite is a new Switch Lite.
-I will always and forever remain cautiously optimistic about Legends. I do think this showing was better than the one for Pokémon's 25th. I so very want it to be good, but there are still some major flaws (empty world, old models, etc) that remain, likely to be in the final product. To be fair, this is the most experimental Game Freak has gotten with the Pokémon formula since day 1. I'm curious to see how this turns out, whether this be the new direction of the franchise or a one-off that doesn't go anywhere. Let's just hope this isn't used as an excuse enabling Game Freak to make more subpar games later with the same formula.
-Fuck Pokémon Home.
So yeah. I'm at least intrigued about what's going to happen, moreso with Legends than anything else. Will it be good? I don't know. I sure hope it is, but if not, I'll always have my back catalog to play through, and as always vow to never give a single cent to Game Freak and the Pokémon Company ever again.

Also I would probably get off Reddit. Terrible platform that emphasizes circlejerking popular things and generally having this "holier-than-thou" aura when it comes to other platforms (I mean those platforms are shit too but that's a story for another day). I can probably count the amount of subreddits I actively visited when I abandoned ship on one hand. It's the origin of Wholesome Keanu Chungus 100, after all.

I raced against Ahmad yesterday, 12pm Eastern.
8 races for Ahmad, 0 races for Wazz.
I didn't expect much of a different result, but it was still a fun race regardless.

For sure the Super Mario Bros. cartoons are janky as hell, but at this point that's part of the charm. There just aren't any shows made like this anymore, and I don't think it would work nearly as well if it was updated to look more modern in the style of Victor and Valentino or some other prime-time American children's cartoon. It's 100% a product of the time but it's still weirdly enjoyable, ironically and unironically.
There still is one episode that I can't tolerate, and that's "Bad Rap". Not because they're rapping, not because of the idea of the Mario Brothers and company rapping, but moreso due to its execution. The people voicing cannot rap and they cannot do it for the full 11 minutes of the episode. Considering the entire script is rapped it makes for a grueling watch, if I even do watch it.

If I'm going to be honest, the best news I expect from Nintendo's E3 announcement would be news on Splatoon 3.
Else they're going to announce what they've always been announcing, ports of Wii and Wii U games.

Pretty much anything under the Wario umbrella, especially the Wario Land series, it's been nearly 13 years since Shake It came out and I really enjoyed it both when I was younger and replaying it through semi-recently. It's a pretty solid platformer that takes advantage of the Wii's motion controls. Why haven't followed it up since is a mystery.
As for the WarioWare series, Gold was a great entry and was much needed after the 8 year gap since DIY, so I don't think it's as needed, but a full new game in the style of everything from Mega Microgames to Smooth Moves would be a great addition to the Switch's lineup.

I see a lot of Roblox-themed parties at work and I'm sitting (standing technically) there wondering that my account is probably older than the majority of the people at the party.
I don't even play that much anymore but its been too long.

I do remember watching SMG4 as recently as 2015, but his style of comedy didn't appeal to me by then. Never really missed it. Had a couple friends watching SuperMarioLogan too, although he's been shit ever since Jeffy came in.

While I don't have a least favorite Youtuber, I do have a least favorite type of video, and that's just either reaction videos or meme compilations. Both are awful for different reasons. The former is due to its lack of originality and overall useless nature. The latter is due to the sameyness of it all and the shameless stealing they do. It's all the same unfunny stuff, too.
Although if we're talking lack of originality I guess WatchMojo is a shoe-in, though I probably haven't watched them in 8 or 9 years.

It's impossible to communicate sarcasm through pure text without some sort of denotation that says "hey this is sarcasm".
I've spoken to them before (moreso supersaga than anyone else), he says it's just how they communicate but seeing as he's fired some of how they communicate towards me, perhaps it's not the case. I'm not interested in looking into it, nor do I think any sane man should be looking into it, seeing as both supersaga and princesslucky are banned here. If they stir up anything else on other platforms, tell them to kindly fuck off and ignore the conversation from there.
