How the Elements Work in Archipelago

There are twelve common elements:
Eight major ones...
-Fire
-Ice
-Water
-Lightning
-Earth
-Wind
-Pearl
-Poison
And four minor ones...
-Status
-Time
-Death
-Omni
Elements contradict each other.
Fire | Ice
Water | Lightning
Earth | Wind
Pearl | Poison & Death
Status (Time) | N/A
Omni | Physical
When a creature of a contradicting element uses magic on the other, the attack will do double damage. There are also partial allies, which are less important and do 1.5x damage.
Most elements have three spells: Offensive Lv. 1, which hits one target, Offensive Lv. 2, which hits all targets, and Defensive, which defends the target (usually someone in your party)
There are exceptions. Status can cast any status spell (that the caster has seen before), Time can cast any time-related spells (Fast, Slow, Stop, etc), Death can only cast Death, and Omni can cast any magic seen by the caster.
Some elements have special effects.
-Ice puts status "freeze" on the target(s)
-Earth Lv. 1 (Quake) hits all foes. All earth attacks cannot hit airborne enemies.
-Wind Lv. 1 (Gust) hits all foes. All wind spells can push smaller targets out of the battle
-Poison puts status "poison" on the target(s)
-Death only works on a target that's weaker than the caster
-Other magic-
There are elements other than the common twelve, notably Explosion and Black Pearl. While other elements exist, they are rarely useful, and obsolete. For example, with Black Pearl:

The only time it was useful was when fighting Louie, because he had high physical and magic defense as a death ally
If choosing an ally, remember:
-While Omni and Status are OP, you're likely to be targeted. Sometimes it's better to be "weaker."
