Is your issue with a Custom Track for Complete Mode? If it's that you can just press ctrl + z to undo an action or ctrl + y to redo an action or double click mouse (or 2 finger click pad on laptop) to edit it,
about that thing not saving, it can still be their if you don't close the tab and save safely, but if you do lose it and close without saving, tough luck you're gonna have to redo it.

I don't exactly understand what you are describing, but I think just right click the polygon and click delete
