★ MKPC's Rating System ★

MKPC allows everyone to create custom circuits and battle arenas for many to enjoy playing. For a lot of people, custom tracks are the only way they play MKPC and many would like to play on high quality circuits or arenas by checking either the Top Rated or Trending tabs on the list of creations

A reliable way to find high quality creations is by checking their ratings. Players are able to rate any creation on MKPC by giving it a rating ranging from 1 star being the worst rating you can give, and 5 stars being the best rating you can give. Rating a creation will affect the overall average rating for that creation, and may affect its position on the Top Rated and Trending pages of the site, based on the following factors:

• The average overall rating (out of 5 stars) that the creation has received.
The higher the overall average rating, the higher ranked the creation is.
• The number of reviews that the creation has overall.
A creation with 4.85/5 across 100 reviews may rank higher than a creation with a 5/5 rating across 10 reviews.

★ What Are Troll Ratings? ★

As good as the rating system is for displaying the high quality creations first, it also unfortunately falls victim to troll ratings, which the moderation team defines as:

"A low rating given to a creation, without any reason behind the rating other than to intentionally or unfairly lower a creation's overall average rating, whether it may be a circuit or a battle arena"

We take troll ratings very seriously, since we want ratings to be accurate to what quality the community thinks these creations are. Troll raters receive sanctions of warnings upon first offences, and then bans for repeat offenders.

★ How To Report ★

Please consider the following before you submit a report:

• Make sure your creation image is clean and easy to understand
No really blurry images or confusing routes
• Make sure you have properly programmed the track
This can be done by adding the appropriate walls, checkpoints, off-road, items etc.
• Try to remove any annoying gameplay or aesthetics
This can be stuff like high decor spam causing lag, decor obstructing view, very random sharp turns etc.
• The creation must be yours and cannot be stolen from anyone
Internet images from tracks that aren't MKPC creations are okay, but expect low ratings from copy and pasting track images

These are some genuine reasons as to why a creation may receive a low rating and may not necessarily be troll ratings:

• The creation may be messy, unreadable, or unplayable
This is just not fun for anyone playing these type of creations
• The creation may be extremely generic
These are creations such as the default quick mode shape or basic rectangles
• There may be invisible properties, such as annoying jumps, boosts and cannons that ruin the gameplay
Just try consider how fair it is on those who are playing your creation(s) for the first time
• Checkpoints, or other creation programming related issues are ridiculously bad
This is just not fun for anyone playing these type of creations, and it's broken
• The creation is a random image and you can't tell where to go
More regarding VS mode, Battle Arenas with random images are just memes
• The creation is inappropriate or offensive

To report a troll rating, send a post to this topic, containing the link to your creation you believe has been troll rated. Please note that not all low ratings are troll ratings if any of the reasons mentioned above are applicable. Please also read other posts in this topic to make sure you aren't reporting on something that's already been reported on (if it's a troll rating that's re-occuring, then that's an exception)

★ Rating Calculation Formula ★

This is a little tip for all of you 5/5 perfectionists out there curious to see if your dip in the average is big enough to be considered a troll rating

There's a mathematical formula you can use to help consider whether you have been troll rated or not, but only if you know what all your other ratings are
