Link's moves are actually pretty slow compared to the rest of the roster. He's still strong, I'll give you that. Who do you play, I'll give you some tips on how to deal with Link.

Link
Link isn't an issue, as long as you don't let him keep the one thing he needs - Distance. Stay in Link's face and you should be fine.
As for me, I find Marth to be more annoying, because he can easily rush you down and there's nothing you can do once he's up close. No wonder so many top level players use him and Peach (she has the same problem, it's just not as easy to do as with Marth.)

I think it's gonna be updated to 1.2 or 1.1.2
1.2 is the next planned patch, I don't know when it's out. Also How on earth do you find Peach "easy to control"? Her floaty nature, her difficult combo game and also turnips convince me otherwise

No, Tails is op btw
meh, he's ok
you can spam the normal attack button while on the ground to create an infinite shield that hurts other players when they touch them. it only works with meta knight so that is why i think that he is op.
Wrong. While meta Knight's jab has this property, it can be beaten. Some projectiles beat it, and a few other attacks outspace it, so it's not infinite and no, it isn't unbeatable.
However, Meta Knight's aerial mobility, recovery and combos make him not necessarily OP, but he is one of the best characters in the game.
I understand this, but it can be useful in some adventure mode stages.
Well if you're at least decent at the game you wouldn't be using Classic mode for practise.

Well, time for competitive me to come out yet again.
MK is OP, I agree, but Tails got huge nerfs in 1.1. He's still good, but now characters are like Marth and Peach are better.

Should DDE (Daisy Drift Exploit) be patched?
On 2021-02-27 at 13:13:26
Nobody to blame but me cuz I pretty much caused this to happen.
"stupidest thing"
Who are you talking about ? of me ?
No, hoppingicon discovered snaking to make the game more fast paced, so it getting removed would make all the advances made over the last year worthless in his eyes, as the creator of the current metagame.

I don't think skill and luck are well-balanced. DDE is one of these "easy to learn, hard to master" techniqes. It depends on the track. For example on DS Rainbow Road, you fall off milion times, so you just wanna get a Bullet Bill.
I meant generally, track-specific is a problem. MC1 is infamous for item smuggling being optimal (Looking at you PogChomp), but DS RR Daisy is still used to prevent you falling off. Instead of snaking you're using the handling for its intended purpose.

When I was starting playing online, I was just destroyed 'cause everyone just used DDE. It's like MKWii, But is extremely skill-based. When 2 pros race, a pro wins that can drift through more part of the stage, it's not luck dependant (MKT took luck-based online to extreme).
So should this exploit be patched to made MKPC more begginer friendly?
PS: I can't even imagine a online game with players not playing as Daisy or skin with her stats.
One solution: being more good at the game.
Snake you can do it too, you just have to learn, and yes we pros spent some time on it too so I don't see why we would make the game like mk8d in "it's all luck" mode, on the contrary, it wouldn't be competitive at all and that would be a big mistake. If we did that we would change the whole meta and people would get bored. Are you complaining that it's all about skill? Let me laugh, it's the best thing possible, a game that is played on merit and not on luck... In my opinion you must be a beginner but you complain instead of trying to improve yourself unlike some people, we too have been sweating it. I think you don't know enough about the game to describe it. Personally being there for 5 years, I always found the metas although I agree, the fact that daisy is super cheated compared to others is unfair. You shouldn't have daisy's nerve but you should balance other characters, that's the best thing to do. Nate explained his point of view very well as well, which is shared with mine.
And you say "a simple change" <-- an other thing who proves you really don't know the game. If we make a change, same just 1 lower this would totally change the actual meta...
MK games have always had characters or techs that are overpowered. MKDS had snaking where it was possible with a few characters and karts. MKDD had it as well, but it didn't matter what character you picked as long as you were using Barrel Train. MKWii, bikes were overpowered, MK8 had fire hopping/demon sliding to save many many seconds, and every other MK game just has the highest speed character dominate the game (seriously, try playing MK7 without running into at least 1 metal Mario per round).
A balanced MK game doesn't exist in character or kart stats, only in its ratio of skill and luck that makes it accessible to all levels of play while still allowing a competitive scene based on skill to thrive. A tech as simple as pressing drift+left, then drift+right, rinse and repeat, seems pretty accessible to me.
Ik don't worry, this is not me who complains
I was backing up your claim

I'm not trying to be rude but it sounds to me like you're complaining about a game taking skill to win. While I can understand the frustration of a metagame like Daisy's snaking, it's far more fair than having a game like Mk8DX or MKT where luck is the main factor. Here, it's 50/50. A lot of top players complain about losing to each other online due to poor item luck even if they're statistically better. DDE, Snaking, whatever you want to call it, this is honestly the only reason this game can balance skill and luck.
Not to mention, snaking isn't that difficult to learn no matter who you are, you just need to have experience with it. It's not like MKDS or MK Double Dash, where it completely destroys your hands and pushes you away from learning it, it's easy to do controls-wise and the rhythm isn't difficult to get down. It's a more accessible tech than most games have to offer.
Overall, no it should not be patched. Not only would we have to do a data wipe of an entire game mode, but we'd go back to using Bowser which is far less interesting.
(On a side note it shouldn't even be called DDE, Peach, Toad and Birdo can do it too you know)

Walls missing from SNES Bowser's Castles?

The BC2 shortcut only cuts a couple seconds.
I don't call the 4.2 seconds it cuts off on Lap 3 a "Couple". It saves more time on Lap 3 because you end the race early.
It only saves a couple, actually. 4 seconds if you're slow but at top level it's only 2-3 seconds.

No problem, you got everything for DP3 though

Koopa Beach 1
Do a mini turbo and release it, before the shortcut, then do a hop to get some extra distance, then use your mushroom.
If there's anything else, please add it.

Not much other than a small cut before the ramp at the end, by MTing into the water and then hopping almost immediately (waiting a few frames is important)

Yoshi Desert: Hit the boost panel to do Pond Cut 1 shroomless, get an SMT + a hop to do Pond Cut 2 shroomless.
Small note, it's faster to get the trick ramp for MT than go around and do an SMT for pond cut 2, and in TTs just use a mushroom.
On 2021-03-01 at 12:08:59
Remember not to trick on the ramp so that you fall faster

Boo Lake
I don't know the strats, its just DDE and using the bridge shortcut, that's all,I think
I got you on this one. After the last turn you can drift of the first ramp and as far off the track as possible, it will respawn you on the finish line.

Broken Pier
Tip:
On Time Trials if you use a mushroom at a certain ramp you can land on a platform and do a big shortcut, saving a lot of time.
If someone has a map showing the shortcut, please add it, I don't know how. On Online you can go on the ramp next door to the TT one and do a mini turbo to get some speed and land on the platform.
Hope this will help

You need yellow/gold mini-turbo. Blue isn't enough.
No you don't, you just use the ramp on the left of the one you use for the mushroom.

To add on to this, you can do an additional shortcut after the big one. Don't trick on the platform in the middle, and turn right soon after you land, then drift. Hit the first ramp, then when you've turned at least 90 degrees, release the mini turbo and trick. You should land on the other side of the gap, skipping the large 180 turn.
