🥇 Sky Sanctuary
Tbh I just love the statues, I think they turned out great. Gameplay is very solid too. Only thing I'm not too big a fan of is the music, maybe I'll change it someday.

🥈 Mirage Drylands
I like Camel (band) and this track is based on that (by vibes). Gimmick isn't as interesting as I was hoping but the Mimics are funny at least. Also it won a TBC so that's kinda cool. FOR THE DJIIIIIIIINN

🥉 Shadyshroom Highlands
Currently my only track that utilizes rails, and not to brag but also the best rail gameplay I've seen on a track so far. Visually amazing and the gimmick is great as well.

🥇 Town With No Name
It's visually very ugly and the track is rushed. I originally wanted to do stuff in the mine but I scrapped it and called it a day, making the track stupid short (15 secs per lap). The wild west is a cool theme for a desert map though so I'm looking forward to remaking this one.

🥈 Wii Mushroom Gorge
Okay, to cut me some slack, this is literally my fourth track I ever made as well as my first attempt at a retro. That being said, this track is horrendous. Mushroom Gorge is probably the worst track to remake in MKPC. Mushroom jumps just don't work in this game. Art for this track is also super ugly and I forgot a boost on the split path lol.

🥉 Gummy Invasion
Another super rushed track. I only made this for the 2025 Winter TBC because I really needed a track. I already had 2 failed attempts that were overly ambitious so I finally came up with this mess of a track. It's boring and lame and just plain akward, it barely even fits the theme. I got 6th out of 11 though so it could've been even worse I suppose.

🥇 Shadyshroom Highlands (⭐ 4.91 x44)
I'm not surprised this is my highest rated track due to all the advertising it got. It's submitted for the Autumn 2025 TBC as well as getting featured in the advent calendar, so yeah plenty of exposure.

🥈 Kernell Rally 1 (⭐ 4.95 x35)
Super unique and came out not too long after MKWorld came out so it got to ride off that hype train. Glad it's received well since this was an absolute nightmare to create. Looking forward to making my next rally, though. Currently only 1 out of the 2 tracks that are finished for CTGP Rush (Shameless plug).

🥉 Sky Sanctuary (⭐ 4.87 x33)
Just a really well made track, as well as getting a review boost for being featured in the advent calendar.

Lowest rated tracks

🥇 Frigid Filler (⭐ 4.5 x4)
Kind of surprised since I have tracks that are much worse than this. I can understand though, generic snow level with like 4 cannons. I think this layout could be great if I replace cannons with jumps, though overrides didn't exist yet at the time.

🥈 Bowser's Castle (⭐ 5 x4)
Again, not so sure why it's so low. I guess everyone must've missed it or something because the reviews are positive, though there's only 4 of them. Gameplay on this track could be better but it's one of my favourite tracks visually.

🥉 Mario Circuit (⭐ 4.8 x5)
Same opinion as Bowser's Castle albeit less visually nice. Fun fact I spent an all nighter making this track. I know Tox really hates this track but I like it personally, one of my best tracks from the initial 20.

Yeah, very generic. I was still testing the waters. Despite being my first track, I don't think it has aged terribly. Sure it's only 15 seconds per lap, but for a track with 0 variation that's kind of nice. I might be biased idk.

Can you be a bit more specific?

Not name calling anyone specifically but you can just look at the most active monthly members and see a decent amount of accounts with barely any online points. (15k is pretty easy to reach in a couple sessions)

That being said, online points aren't necessarily indicative of how much people actually play. Online isn't very active at the moment and there's many ways to play this game outside of online worldwides (lounges, custom tracks, time trials, challenges (not battle mode)). I for example have been active for 2.5 years yet I'm only top 100, simply because I don't enjoy worldwides that much.

Though if they are at exactly 5000, meaning they haven't tried online even once, then yeah kinda problematic lol

If you're the only one who has a problem then it's likely that you are the problem.

Discord has older members, it's allowed to be more edgy. Yes racism is bad we know, doesn't mean we can't have fun with stereotypes. You're missing the nuance.

You should get back to doing lounges, it's gotten fairly active again

While me and many others won't quit, there is an undeniable dive in activity.

Unfortunately Wargor hasn't touched this game since January 1st even though there are many things in need of fixing.

Without updates the game is never going to stay active.

Lounge is where the high skill games are at my guy. Good rulesets, good tracks, good players, fun gamemodes. All you have to do is join the Discord (you can DM me for an invitation).

Just play lounge if you want the game to be fun

Can't say I blame you. 2024 felt way more active than 2025. What should be an awesome fangame has become a social media platform for 9-12 year olds with barely any moderation (highly irresponsible!)

Maybe once Wargor decides to put forums less on the forefront (has been repeatedly requested for at least 18 months) people might actually play, but I even doubt that by now.

Online ww are with the garbage base tracks and people who can't RD, assuming you even manage to find enough people for a room. Singleplayer is boring too as CPU's are too easy (they're only 'difficult' difficulty in GP mode) and it's difficult to find any good challenges (even the advent calendar struggled this year for the first half)

Only thing there is to do is make custom tracks nobody will play or wait for a mogi to miraculously gather. Shame.

(This is from the perspective of a C tier lounger lol, also when I talk about distributions I'm referring to the item distribution used in CT Lounge, not the base game.)

S Tier
Free win unless it's at the end of lap 3 in which case you'd likely lose anyway, also a really fun dynamic in teams
How good this item is will depend on the track, but it's not uncommon to get a free top placement just by pressing a button, also shock dodge
Go fast, also really good if paired up with mushrooms, also shock dodge

A Tier
Same thing as a star, just slightly weaker
x3 Mushrooms are pretty essential for most shortcuts, and having three of them just makes it three times better. Also a very easy item to burn in case you want to chain (cough gold shroom cough)
Weaker shock, also alot harder to use right. Can still easily turn the tides on a race though. LE MINI SHOCK
Same thing as triple mushrooms. Also forgot to mention dodging blue shells which is another crucial aspect. While all the other items mentioned earlier (except shock and pow) can blue dodge, an opportunity for that to happen comes very rarely unlike the single shroom which you can pull in 2nd place

B Tier
x3 This item would probably be higher if it wasn't buggy as hell. Single red shells already have some issues, and the triple red shell brings even more issues where you throw a red, it goes backwards, it kills one of your reds, leaving you with a single rotating red shell (worse than just pulling one red shell), fortunately this doesn't happen that often
Speaking of single red shell, this item is generally useful. Sniping 1st place because they made the mistake of showing their fib is always funny. Problem is it can be useless, either going straight into a wall for no reason or hitting a decor with wall collisions (Quick Kernell Pro Track Creation Tip: always disable those, they never play well). Also can be used to scare the people behind you to not catch up.
The best item you can pull in first place, amazing to trail as you'll scare the nutsack of people behind you and especially great on cannons to pretty much guarantee killing someone. You can also snipe if you're good. Only problem is that it can backfire if you don't keep your momentum. Also fun fact I made the new bob omb sprite and Wargor did not put me in the website credits
x3 Contending with the bomb for best item in 1st as this provides really good defense as well as allowing you to block shortcuts

x3 You might be wondering why the triple version is lower, and that is because of the placement. While this item is decent in 2nd, anything behind that is just pretty much trash. Still decently defensive but it won't protect you from all the invincibility items later positions get. Also a good time to mention that if you throw 2 green shells forward in quick succession, they hit each other and if you use a green followed by a mushroom you hit yourself.
Not nearly as good as the triple version, but still able to block a red or make someone take a wider turn.
It does kinda bother me that this is the only item that isn't really an official MK item but whatever it fits the game regardless. Anyway it's just a stronger banana. Really funny to use on tracks with teleporters as you can basically guarantee a hit if another person takes the teleport.

C Tier
Ngl while making the tier list I forgot about C tier lol. Anyway this is the MKPC equivalent of the coin item, as in a mostly useless item so 1st place can't dodge every red shell thrown their way. Can be used to dodge blue shells apparently but it still slows you down and personally haven't had many opportunities to do this strat (wouldn't a banana also be better?)

D Tier
This is a hot take, but honestly this item just exists to punish last place. This item is a significantly worse bullet bill, which you get in the same placements as a bullet bill. All it does is prevent you from using any other item, making you stuck with this. It can be good on some tracks if they have a lot of off road, but there aren't that many. It also ruins your bagging. If there was a button to just end it instantly this item would be A tier, maybe even S but as it is now it is complete garbage.
Probably the most important item from a game design standpoint. Prevents first place from easily winning every race, and being 2nd/3rd and seeing a blue shell on the minimap is very hype. That being said, getting to pull the blue shell is absolutely miserable. I have had a lot of races ruined because I pull a blue instead of any speed item and just lose. First place is also your last interest if you're all the way in the back. Similar to the shock though, a really fun item to use in team mogis (especially in 3v3/4v4)
Yeah it's a joke item. Pretty much useless as it goes for last place which is generally not what you want to hit. High likelihood they dodge too since last has a lot of invincibility items. This item is fun for dicking around, but I wouldn't ever want this in an actual serious race.
You know this item is bad when it does worse than a literal shitpost. This item does basically nothing. The dark shell at least hits something, this doesn't. It puts some ink pngs on your screen but it's really easy to see through them. You can also look at the unobstructed minimap or get rid of the effect altogether with a boost. This item had to be removed from CT Lounge because pulling it would just end your race as you get nothing while your enemies enjoy destroying you with shells or zooming past you with shrooms. Really hope this item gets reworked someday so it's actually usable, there's a lot of creative options you could do with the blooper. You could block the minimaps + item wheel, you could make the ink reduce stats, you could make the ink slippery and probably a million other things I haven't thought of.

Don't use MS Paint or any drawing website. Sure it's easier to use but also a lot lower in quality.

I would highly suggest using paint.net. Most other track creators use it so you'll get the most help there.

FireAlpaca is another great program and it's what I personally use.

Be aware that just because you have a decent program, you won't magically poop out masterful tracks. You should absolutely mess around in the program first and get somewhat familiar with the features before you make a track. Making custom tracks also isn't a quick process, art takes time.

Btw check out Track Creator 101 by RHcks.

You can use the inspect tool (f12) to change the value of the lap counter.

Also works with CPU difficulty to go beyond impossible.

Maybe there's more stuff you can do but I got no clue.

1. Just make a battle multicup, it wouldn't make sense for a random cup to be battle mode if you just want to race

3. The cup limit is 40 due to technical reasons so it's impossible to increase (if I'm understanding correctly). However, this is already way more than Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which only has 24 cups in total. It is also very rare for a multicup to even reach 40 cups, unless it's a massive collaboration like ctgp
4. The character limit is 120, which I'm assuming is also due to technical reasons. Again, very rare occurrence for anyone to come across

I can somewhat understand your argument but that's not what this website is made for neither is it what it should be as it comes with a load of responsibilities (and maybe laws idk I'm not a lawyer) Wargor likely doesn't want to deal with. The person I'm talking to in particular is 13 which is old enough for most social media platforms in the US. Also every social media has an app so you can access it on nearly any device, makes MKPC more difficult to access than other platforms if anything. Tbh I will partially blame Wargor for the forum kid issue since this website puts a pretty large emphasis on the forum and not enough rewards for playing the game but that's a whole other can of worms for another day.

As for requiring people to play the game they're on the website for (crazy idea) I really don't see why not. Either you like the game and stay or you leave. You don't go to an Italian restaurant to order sushi, I don't see why this should be any different.


People need to learn to use Space For Anything more, 90% of topics can belong entirely in there, including this one. Mods don't do jack to enforce anything though. (Report button does nothing lmfaoooo)

I've said this many times before and I'll say it again the forum should be exclusively for talking about MKPC (or at least Mario Kart) and if not then the forum should at least be way back in the website and not the front.
