Hello MKPC players! In the Nintendo Switch 2 direct + Nintendo Treehouse segments, they revealed the name of the new Mario kart in the first-look teaser, and it is...



                                                                                        Mario Kart World!

It has 24 players, a massive Open world map, 30 unique tracks, 3 new/improved modes, and new items!

Gliders, anti-gravity, and underwater driving are gone, in favor of rail grinding, wall hopping, ground tricks, and kart transformation into boats and planes!

The New Modes:

Grand Prix: You do course 1 the same, but you drive the rest of the cup starting at the previous race and driving to the next race like a sectioned track, and doing 1 lap on the destination. This is optional in case you want to play the good old gameplay.

Knockout Tour: Race through a transcontinental rally of 6 tracks. Just don't do horribly, otherwise you'll get eliminated!

Free Roam: You can drive freely around the map without Lakitu picking you up!




3 NEW ITEMS:

Coin Shell: Acts like a green shell, but dispenses coins on the trail! Coin limit was increased to 20.

Kamek: This item summons kamek and temporarily transforms others' drivers into random enemies/bystanders, as well as spawning enemies near 1st place.

Food (yep xD): Obtained in new item boxes which are orange food bags with smiley faces. Can be used to transform to costumes, but some characters just get a mushroom clone.








Soo... yeah, that's about all the new information about Mario Kart World, releasing as a Nintendo Switch 2 launch title on June 5th, 2025!...if you can get through that hefty 80-90$.

AllertorGamer Fun Fact. This is basically Diddy Kong Racing but without Diddy Kong. The Concept of a Hovercraft, Go Kart, and Airplane in a Racing Game Originated from Diddy Kong Racing, but this game copied the concept.

My suggestions for the game: A DLC with actually good courses from great past titles and Miis. And FOR DA LOVE O' GOD GIVE ME BLACK YOSHI JEEZ NINTENDO
I can kind of see why this is unfinished, as there are 10 colors (I think), two genders. So 20 MODELS need to be designed to match colors, as well as quite a few karts.

The reason people are saying it's amazing is because it's New and because this is the first Mario Kart Game since Mario Kart 8 that wasn't a Port, Spinoff, or a Mobile Game People are going to stick up for this Game. But I bet after a Year, people will start realize that this game isn't perfect and is just Nintendo's way of Scamming us with an $80-$90 unfinished Game. And Honestly, $80-$90 for a Mario Kart Game that doesn't even have GBA Tracks, Good Battle Tracks, or Mii's isn't even worth it.

I like the original 3 lap sytem then teleport to the next track.
That's why I don't like World.

AllertorGamer I would've loved Delfino Square. All of those extra Paths would've been perfect and Exploring the Area would've been so much Fun. GCN Mushroom City, 3DS Wuhu Loop/3DS Maka Wuhu, GBA Riverside Park Combined with GBA Lakeside Park, and Wii U Toad Harbor would've been perfect for the Game Also.

StorminLogan I challenge you to make World-Style intermissions between your tracks. Or with permission you can do so with someone else's tracks. I'm okay with it as long as you credit me for one or both depending if just the start or finish or both is of my tracks.
And yes, going between yours and someone else's counts, again with permission.

As for me, I will finish my 7th multicup cup and then do an intermission with one of my courses to
the best one of a forum I will send.

Deadshyguy Ok ok slow down here. Why did they remove Gliders, Anti-Gravity, and Underwater? I get it that they had replacements ready but they still could had all of them at once! connor1220 The lightning ⚡ power-up only hits the players ahead of you now. Now if you manage to smuggle it into 1st place, nothing happens when you use the item, which is way more balanced. Cat_king Even though Wii is my personal favorite in the series, I think there is a reason they did not bring any back... Most of them were not very good. The only one(s) I could see them adding is Delfino Pier and Thwomp Desert (If just for the music). Also we don't know that there isn't any Wii Battle tracks, they haven't announced all the battle arenas yet. Of course, then again a lot of the massive open levels of Mkwii battle might also work better for 24 players. Either way it is too early to say.

Why are they adding Courses that have been remade already? And Why did they remove Underwater Driving? Now Several 3DS and Wii U Courses won't work.

The food items seemingly are used to unlock costumes, and give you a boost. However if you are already in the costume of that area then it will give you a larger boost than if you weren't (as far as I can tell). There are also a bunch of characters new to the mainline Mario kart series, such as the Cow, among others. Rainbow Road has been leaked, and is most likely going to be in the game. Kart customization seems to be gone as well. A little more on the speculative side, but from trailer/treehouse gameplay it is noticable that the icon on the side of the kart is different, as in the trailer it says "One-up fuel" while in the treehouse segments it says "Have a nice drive". In one of the treehouse segments during free roam mode they got an achievement for driving 300 KM. I have also spotted a bunch of other smaller mechanics that have changed, such as karts lifting up their front tires to avoid off-road (allowing for sharper turns) and being able to do a 'straight' drift. In addition to the new items, several items that have not appeared in the racing modes of any mainline Mariokart game are introduced in this game:
- Ice flower: Fire flower but with reduced traction(?)
- Hammer: Throws a bunch of hammers in front of the kart in a line. Usable multiple times.
- Cape Feather (I just realized this was in the race mode of SMK. Oops)
- Coin Box: Summons a Coin box above your head. Every time you hit it it gives you a coin and spits out coins behind you.
Mega Mushroom also makes a comeback.

Dudzi Basically Europe is putting different prices for digital and physical, digital being 80 euros and physical being 90 euros, the thing is that some dumb US people didn't realized it was euros and not dollars, so there's this misinformation that the physical game in the US will be 90 bucks, either way, you can buy the bundle and pay only $50 for the game
