What is Mario Kart PC?
On 2025-01-03 at 19:30:26
Not sure why this has become a discussion of how we found MKPC, but ill share that I found it through rewatching F3 2020. The game looks so much worse in that trailer I swear

Jpg VS png
On 2025-01-18 at 11:36:01
This has been a battle since the dawn of time.... many generations of people have battled over (shut up the cavemen did have computers dummy )
Now I prefer pngs cuz even tho they are bigger they give you the exact image I wanted without reducing quality. after all pixilated is better than blurry right?

BUT I DECODED TO ASK THE MKPC NATION WHAT THEY THINK
WHAT IS BETTER
JPG VS PNG
PNG is very obviously better, there's way less compression, the reason you'd use JPEG is because it has compression and you need it to be a smaller and sacrificing quality is fine
Track Layouts
On 2025-01-16 at 08:04:52
This doesn't work as well in tracks with less going on visually but I try to plan out where the "landmarks" of the track will be (e.g. if there's gonna be a castle area, where is that? If there's gonna be a lake, where is that?) and I'll try to build a layout around that. Also feel free to import the image while it's still a wip and test how the turns feel, it can help with realising something doesn't work well before it's too late
What retro tracks do you think should be in the official MK9?
On 2025-01-13 at 08:56:58

Would kill replayablity for the next Mario Kart game unless there will be none after that
Very unlikely that this would be the end of the series since it sells really really well

Let's See How Often We Can Change The Topic Of Discussion
On 2025-01-06 at 14:09:47
speaking of dry, i wonder what the sand in GCN Dry Dry Desert tastes like... (very sandy)
Speaking of Mario Kart tracks, what’s your favourite?
baby park wii rainbow road and delfino square are my favs
delfino square is quite good, it reminds me of Mario Sunshine
speaking of Mario Sunshine, what's your fav part of that game? (bosses, enemies etc)
I like the part when Mario was sent to prison. In you lot's opinion, what do you think about prisons?
I hope I never have to go to one! On the topic of hope, what are your thoughts on Danganronpa?

So, how do we do this again? Anyway, I’m really interested in this show right now.
Well I'm really interested in pepperoni pizza
Pepperoni's nice, it reminds me of my friend. He loves pepperoni. He also really likes Kirby games, do you?

(before you clown on me Im not a competitive player I just play for fun and also I haven't actually played this game in well over a year)
you can reverse the direction of a drift by pressing down, if you alternate between drifting forward and backward you can charge smts quickly and take good lines so its the most optimal way to play

Cats or Dogs?

Only good thing about dogs imo is the song Dogs Unleashed by Tokio Hotel, at least that song doesn't smell bad or drool everywhere 😎😎😎
On a more serious note, dogs are kinda scary...
"dogs unleashed". Sonic the Weredog?
yk what I REALLY fucking hate?

so I’m making a track in complete mode. I’ve spent an hour on it. I accidentally close out of the tab. All of the time spent on the track, gone. Can that be fixed with autosaving/more frequent autosaving if it already exists?
in the Options menu there's a button that literally says Save (or you could just press ctrl + s) so if you close out of your tab after doing that and then return to the CM editor menu where you can access all of your CM tracks then next time you go back in to work on that track, everything will be saved
(sorry for long ass yapping session)
lol pretty sure they know how to save bc you need to to test the circuit, what they want is an autosave feature (which doesnt exist sadly)

Just save more often auto saving would cause problems because some people (like me) would try things on a track and not like it but if it autosaved it would mess. Things up
like what Cosmic said it could be an option, or it could do smth like what SMC does where you can load the autosave but it uses your own save by default

Unless you're referring to creating the image, if you haven't saved in the editor and you try to close the tab most browsers will display a warning that changes might not be saved but yeah that sucks

Predictions for the next Mario Kart Game
On 2025-01-05 at 00:05:48
PLEASE I NEED SONIC
highly doubt it since sonic isn't a nintendo ip and all the crossovers in mk8 were clearly afterthoughts, being dlc for wii u or made for deluxe's initial release

I have beaten every* Mario and Luigi game in the last few months
On 2024-12-29 at 21:20:12
Jesus I yapped
Sorry for the
(even if this is my own topic) but uh, I did it again, this time with Brothership involved. Mind you, I did play through the entirety of it when it came out, it was after that that I begun this. Other than Shadow Generations and Super Mario Party Jamboree I haven't played a game that isn't a Mario & Luigi game in like a month please help THE AUTISM. I played through the games in order this time, which I don't think I did for last year, and I did do a few challenge runs, for Superstar Saga I played the GBA version cause I'm more familiar with it and only upgraded stache, for Partners in Time I played the US version, for Bowser's Inside Story, again played the original bc more familiar (ive never even played the remake lolllolol) and used the challenge medal, for Dream Team I would've done hard mode but doing BIS with the challenge medal got really really boring and I can only imagine how that'd be with Dream Team's... pacing. For Paper Jam, no items in battle, no battle cards, and not really a restriction but I did try to stay very underleveled (for context, i finished my first playthrough with Paper at level 39 and the bros. at 38, while here i finished with paper at 32 and the bros. at 29). For Brothership I just played the game normally, it's fairly challenging on its own and Paper Jam, oooh Paper Jam, had started really annoying me.
This will contain pretty big spoilers for all the games including Brothership soouh
I definitely still think these are really worth playing, particularly I do think Brothership is worth it if you're thinking of getting it. I am autistic can you tell?
Sorry for the

I still think these games are great! And Brothership is amazing. Ranking the games is tough cause I think the really good ones all have reason to be the best, but I think Paper Jam is easily the worst, I have no clue how I thought it was better than PiT back then. I think my explanation then was that I didn't like how disconnected the world was in PiT, but like, PJ might do that better, but the actual world itself? Sucks. Really sucks. I'd probably rank these games with BIS, DT and BS (I don't know how one abbreviates brothership so read that correctly please) in whatever order and then SS 4th, PiT 5th and PJ 6th. I dont' think any of these are bad, (ok yes paper jam did make me very very angry but i was biased because i made it difficult. I STILL WANT TO MURDER NABBIT FOR WHAT HE FORCED ME THROUGH IN NEO BOWSER CASTLE.). My Superstar Saga playthrough was a little bit of a trainwreck? Because I actually knew how the mush badges worked this time, and i wasn't playing the remake where they were nerfed like last year, the entire late game devolved into avoiding every enemy cause youre underleveled and will die in one hit and whenever a boss happens just use chopper bros and theyre dead. Oh and I also managed to beat the entire game in one day. I found PiT surprisingly pleasant, since it's like the only one of these games with basically no backtracking or padding. It is a little short cause of that but it's nice that you're always seeing different stuff. BIS was great as always, the Challenge Medal also improved the late game bosses a lot, since one of my biggest issues playing the game for the first time was that everything past the legendary sm64 level i mean boss fight Bowser in the Clinic every boss died way too quickly, so a fair challenge was nice. But the overworld encounters got very very boring. They already go on for a while, the added hp and def for the enemies doesn't help. So with patience I think the Challenge Medal is how I'd rather play the game, but it's why I didn't do Dream Team hard mode. In hindsight I should have, because that game ended up being a JOKE. I loved the game as always, the characters, world and environments are amazing, but man it was really easy knowing what I was getting into. I also found out about the Gold Badge + Miracle Badge combo, which freezes enemies for 2 turns, and that's the story of how (alongside being overleveled)I defeated Dreamy Bowser, the final boss, without him ever getting to attack. I still hate the zeekeeper fight also. Paper Jam was VERY boring, enemy encounters lasted forever and I'd usually die with the bros meaning paper had way more exp, this went for bosses too, after a certain point the bros would go down and it'd be a struggle with Paper doing pathetic attacks until eventually the boss died. I'm not joking when I say this, the Kamek Duo fight took an entire hour. I ended up with like 22 hours of playtime as well, so that's a very big fraction... Brothership was a regular run, though I did all the sidequests and crafted every plug. The only areas where I had actual trouble were Glohm Pipegunk (did it as soon as it unlocks) and i
I actually died once on the final boss cause I forgot to change plugs.
So yeah, my thoughts on the games
Superstar Saga is just generally good, no real flaws
Partners in Time isn't amazing, but it feels very smooth to play through cause there's barely any padding
Bowser's Inside Story is again, generally really good, although the mid game does kind of drag?
Dream Team has some great environments, I love the world, but it's very slow
Paper Jam is boring and lazy and unoriginal and I hate it
Brothership I have the same thoughts as Dream Team, like it doesn't play the best and certainly does go on for a little too long, but it also made me very emotional both times when I beat it, so what do I know. Very glad it exists, and a 5/10 for this game is just so thoroughly incorrect I cannot emphasize this enough

Yeah - I played through them all. Before doing this I had only already played Superstar Saga a couple times and most of Partners in Time (I gave up around Star Hill due to being really underleveled). They're damn good games, and if you're thinking of playing any of them, please do! I might at some point do reviews on this topic but no guarantee. I know most people on the site aren't gonna care too much but that's why this is in Various Discussions. The reason I actually did this is the announcement of the TTYD remake. Even though I don't know the release date, I want to complete every Mario RPG before it's out, and I'm planning on taking on the Paper Mario games next. I have already played 64, TOK and TTYD but not SPM. I will not be playing Sticker Star or Colour Splash, I like my video games remotely enjoyable.
Opinions on Paper Jam?(hold)
Better than partners in time, feel free to end my life
