Mario kart 7. Yes I know its a forgotten mario kart and not as popular as wii or ds but mario kart 7 gave us a lot : first time that you can make your own kart combination ( in wii you cant customize your kart) gliders, driving underwater...
+ they ve got good nitro tracks and an amazing if not the best selection of retro tracks from previous games.

I have played every single mainline Mario Kart Game, but not the spinoffs, so I will only rank the mainlines and why.
#9- SUPER MARIO KART
It's not really my favorite. It's hard to control and the tracks are kinda boring. But it doesn't mean it's bad.
To Clarify: I like every game, if I rank them low I still like them.
#8-MARIO KART: SUPER CIRCUIT
It's a bit slippery, but mostly fine. I like the tracks, and Rainbow Road is underrated.
#7- MARIO KART DS
The Nitro Tracks are fine, but the Retro Tracks are GARBAGE. The shell cup is literally the starting tracks of three of the previous games + Moo Moo Farm! Also Choco Island 2 looks HIDEOUS in DS. Snaking is fun, though it is a little hard with the D-Pad.
#6- MARIO KART 7
I really like this game. The Mushroom Cup may be bad, but the rest of the Nitro Cups make up for it. The drifting is great, the glider gives you a lot of freedom. Nintendo finally got the Retro Tracks right in this game, not saying Wiis were bad, far from it, but 7 finally built a structure for the retros that World ruined.
#5- MARIO KART WII
Ok, confession: I have only played Mario Kart Wii like twice. Maybe a little more than that. But I still love the game. The retros are amazing, the Nitros are peak, bikes are peak, and the music is peak. But I can't rank it any higher because there are games that I've played longer that I've grown more attached to.
#4- MARIO KART 8 (DELUXE)
This is the first Mario Kart I played, and it's really fun. I love anti-gravity, and the music is really fun. The tracks are fun, and I love the first DLC from Wii U, but HOT TAKE: I'm not really a fan of the BCP. DLC should be a build off with the games main mechanics, most of the tracks in the BCP don't even use Anti-Gravity. That's one of my complaints about the retros too. Really the BCP was "LET'S JUST MOVE TOUR OVER TO 8 DELUXE!!!" and wasn't that special. I guess it's good because now the tour city tracks will live on. Still a great game overall.
NOW ONTO THE TOP 3!!!
#3- MARIO KART 64
The music is amazing, the tracks are amazing, the shortcuts are amazing, the drifting is fun, and retro games are my guilty pleasure.
#2- MARIO KART WORLD
I love the shortcuts. The retro selection is really good. The Nitros are fun, except for PAPERCLIP STADIUM and TEMU PEACH BEACH. The music is the best out of the series, and the remixes during free roam are really chill, On the topic of free roam, I love it! I spend hours making my own routes and tracks.
And first place goes to...
#1- MARIO KART: DOUBLE DASH!!
This game is peak Mario Kart. The gimmick is unique, the tracks are some of the best in the series, and so is the music. The game also had the All-Cup Tour, which isn't in any other game, and there was a big leap from the previous 3 game's 8 characters to 20 characters.
Anyways this is just my opinion.

I haven't played all the Mario kart games but here goes:
1. Mario Kart Wii
This one is just so nostalgic and will never be beaten.
2. Mario Kart World
People are saying 8 deluxe is better but Mario Kart World's track selection is great, plus free roam and knockout tour. But I need dlc for this game quick.
3. Mario Kart 7
Extremely underated. I'd play this over 8 deluxe any day.
4. Mario Kart 8 deluxe
I'm gonna say it. OVERRATED. Is it me or are the tracks very narrow and tight? This game is still fun but I dunno. Even with 96 tracks this game isn't as good as others.
5. Mario Kart 64
I used to play this with my friend who had the Nintendo online just to make fun of how bad this game was. BUT I now I kinda like it. This game might not greatly compare to the other games but I like it just fine.
6. Mario Kart Tour
Apparently this game is shutting down in september and me (thinking this game was absolute cr*p) kinda got a little sad. Well the story goes that when I was a kid we had a Wii u, BUT my dad still had a Wii. Anyway I don't really remember playing Mario Kart 8 on the Wii u I don't think I did, but I loved playing Mario kart on the Wii. After we moved we put it back in the garage and I started playing with other stuff like Legos. Then one morning I asked my dad, "where's Mario kart?" That was the day he downloaded it on my tablet. I was a little kid and I was obsessed. Mario Kart tour was so fun to me. Now, I absolutely hate it. Why play tour when you got Wii, world, 8 deluxe, and even 7? But the memories I had playing it stuck with me.
Number 7: Super Mario Kart
I feel bad for my friend who only has a SNES and not anything newer
. I play it when I come over to his house sometimes and I'm just like: (Phew I'm so grateful I have a switch). Yep. Super Mario Kart is pretty boring, bland, and most of all: Bad.
I haven't played Double Dash!!, Super Circuit, DS, or any of the arcade ones. Sorry the descriptions were so long
anyways that's my ranking
