CPUs are cheating
On 2020-07-01 at 17:33:46
does it work for players like us?
No it's something they put in for the CPUs only. Rubberbanding is to make keeping the top spot more challenging, try to make the race a lot more interesting by making 1st harder to maintain (although the blue shell does more than a good job at this)
What are your favorite MK tracks
On 2022-02-03 at 15:13:38
Top 5 tracks for me are:
1. Retro N64 Rainbow Road. They managed to get everything right when remaking this. The visuals are the greatest I've ever seen in a Mario Kart game, the new mechanics added since N64 were all implemented well, and the music was redone so, so well. The reason it's number 1 is that it did something other tracks didn't, in that its placing within the retro tracks was also done perfectly. This is a track that above all others, feels like a celebration of your abilities. It's the perfect final level for an MK game: No final incredibly hard driving challenge, no endurance match against the game, just a victory lap to remind you how far you've come.
2. 3DS Rainbow Road. Yeah, both my favourite tracks are RR, I promise these are the only 2. This was my favourite for a long time because of how grand it feels compared to other RRs. It's not a simple rainbow road, it's a full on space exploration with an incredible background, tons of varying challenges along the way, neat little shortcuts and an incredible music score. Well deserving of its praise.
3. Waluigi Pinball. COME ON THIS HAD TO BE ON HERE SOMEWHERE. Same points as before, but with one small issue that I have with the track. You don't drive on much of the actual pinball path, but instead you kinda get to see how the ball gets to the actual machine so that's cool. Now I think about it, the DS had a couple hits with pinball machines...
4. Big Blue. Easily the better of the F-Zero tracks (Sorry Mute City, you're still cool though). Much bigger focus on speed than Mute, as well as better music imo, makes for an exhilarating experience every time.
5. Gonna be an odd choice for sure, but Mario Circuit 2. This one's from personal experience not gonna lie. Me and MC2 have got along in every appearance:
MKPC: An extremely quick but fun track where I used to be incredibly skilled
MK7: Super fun to play at any level
SMK: My current best track in the game and second best track in the entire series
Hopefully when I finally get around to completing my MKSC timesheet, I'll enjoy it there too.

anybody have any world records

But I do remember having the top spot on my online thing in MK7 Maka Wuhu. I don't know if that's local, random, people with times close to mine, or whatever, but I had top spot on there. Heck, I didn't even use Metal Mario or the B-Dasher. I used Wiggler on the Barrel Train.
That's just the Spotpass ghosts everyone gets. Not gonna lie everyone thought they had MW WR at some point
On 2020-09-14 at 19:31:07
i had a former wr on maka wahu *insert popping off*
Since MK7's the topic, how about I share my current SNES MC2 flap WR, which is now 20.760?
Smash bros ultimate, who are you good with? ( And golf tour!!!)
On 2022-05-24 at 17:03:35
My top 5 would be Wii Fit Trainer, Ganondorf, Little Mac, King Dedede and Byleth
Daisy Vs Bowser
On 2019-11-17 at 15:27:47
Ok fine, my t didn't register for some reason.

For a little bit of context, me and Hoppingicon are the leaders of a character clan war to see which of the 2 OP characters is superior.
Team Bowser, with his incredible straight speed and easy lines: Me(team captain), Neemo, ZeKirio
Team Daisy, the team that worships snaking (yes, it was not removed): Hoppingicon(team captain), KoopaFan37, Craxycatz, ByoT and MKC_WintrMK7
Reply with whose side you are on and then message me or Icon to put you on the team.

What is your favorite GBA track?
On 2020-07-16 at 23:24:10
Okay after a lot more time, I still say Ribbon Road's aesthetics are the best but RP's the most fun to race on. BC3's got both tho so I'd say that's my favourite

RANKING EVERY MARIO KART GAME
On 2021-07-03 at 12:12:28
Alright, time for my own list...
I will be talking from mainly a competitive standpoint because that's how I play mario kart. Don't judge me.
1. Mario Kart DS. When I first played this game I thought it was just a game that would ruin my hands, but WOW this was fun. Mission Mode was also a good bonus to the game, and the progression of unlocking karts feels really good in this game. And now I've been tryharding time trials for the last 3 months, I can say I actually enjoy the game's mechanics now. Going fast is based off your skill level which is something I wish more MK games had, BUT ALL YOU CASUALS CRIED TO NINTENDO ABOUT SNAKING, THANKS GUYS! (don't worry I get the skill gap is a bit too much but there has to be some level of skill within a game...we'll get to that later.)
2. Mario Kart 7. This is why I said I was talking from a competitive view...this game's a weird one casually. No VS mode is a bummer, but I never played vs that much anyway. However I will take time to say that a lot of the game is extremely solid. It added more new features than any other game, and the collection of new tracks was the best in my opinion. Also was my first competitive title so it holds a special place in my heart, I love how different each track is to play.
3. Mario Kart 8 (WiiU). Nostalgia? Maybe. But I will wholeheartedly say that it was better than MK8DX. The game looked incredible for the WiiU, and felt amazing to play. Also again, in terms of tech it looks amazing. A lot of the reasons I find it better than DX however, I'll get to when we talk about it.
4. Mario Kart 64. A massive step in the series as it transitioned to 3d. While it didn't do well in...some regards *looks at the game's shortcuts* it did extremely well at being a 3d Mario Kart game that still feels fun to play to this day.
5. Mario Kart Wii. For everyone reading this who is under 13, head over to Bowser's Castle you'll find all the torches and pitchforks you need there.
I'm gonna say it: This game is heavily overrated. It's extremely broken and unbalanced, and it's a boring game to play competitively. While I admit it can be fun casually, the community is so toxic it would prevent me from playing casually anyway. I'd say I'm sorry but I'm really not.
6. Mario Kart Double Dash. Take everything I said about MKDS competitively, apply it here. Only difference is no mission mode, not as fleshed out in terms of karts and I haven't played it myself.
7. Super Mario Kart. I gotta give it credit for being the first game in the series and actually being fun, but a lot of stuff just doesn't make sense about it. The physics engine feels extremely off, and why are PAL and NTSC versions so different? It's cool to watch but it feels so weird to play...
8. Mario Kart Super Circuit. There really isn't anything to say other than it being a straight downgrade to both MK64 and SMK, in both looks and feel.
9. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. It's finally time. Let's look at every downgrade this made to the original game:
Made everything unlocked from the start, completely removing the progression other Mario Kart games had. Like yeah I actually want to earn the right to play the best tracks in MK history, not get them day 1.
Stripped it of all interesting movement that Mk8U had, leaving a barebones game with no way to go faster other than stuff that already used in MKWii.
Changes to the meta I don't understand, why is mini-turbo suddenly the most important stat? Even in the snaking-oriented games where you're at MT speed all the time, speed is still an important stat so where's the difference here? It's confusing and makes the game just a case of "pick Roller tyres to win".
Ripped off double items from MKDD, with none of the strategy to using them.
I'm sorry but this really doesn't hold up to the original in my opinion.
I would talk about MKL:HC but I don't consider it a proper MK game.

Then two is wii and one is ds
I personally say MK7 is way higher up but then again it was my first competitive MK title so I'm probably bias there

Whats your Favorite Mario Kart Item
On 2020-10-18 at 20:55:19
I'm not locking this topic, take a joke guys
On 2020-08-17 at 15:27:33
2-3 seconds is an exaggeration of how short it is. It lasts about 7 seconds unless lightning is used during that time.
I meant in MKPC
It's still about 4 seconds.

I'd have to say my favourite item is the triple reds. They're extremely good without being broken, providing both insane offense and defence.
I suck at mobile
On 2021-11-18 at 14:32:11
anyway what are the controls for mobile (as in like what do you do to go forward or turn and stuff like that
It has the buttons labelled for you, all the arrow keys, an item button, a drift button, etc.
On 2020-10-20 at 21:00:33
Basically everyone does. Even among the pros there's only 2 people that are actually decent on mobile
Mario Kart Tour is the best game ever CHANGE MY MIND!!

Even if the visual effects don't do anything(to you), they look cool.
Aesthetic is important. People will get bored if we just race on the ground and do nothing interesting.
Also who cares about ultras, there just a confirmation that your game is buggy as f*ck
That shouldn't be a good thing.
1. While yes, Nintendo's intended audience is casual players, even some of those close to Nintendo (cough cough Sakurai) believe that video games should have something for both newcomers and veterans alike, casuals and those who want to push themselves to the limit. The other games accomplished just that, even if unintentionally.
2. You can probably tell but I care way more about the actual gameplay than the visuals, so games that look good only to hide the lack of exciting gameplay really don't stick with me. Especially with MKT not only being bland and easy, but slow as well.
3. I agree with you that ultras shouldn't be an integral part of the game, but some cool shortcuts are definitely welcome, as long as they aren't too overpowered. MKT doesn't even try there
On 2022-05-01 at 14:24:56
Prove to me that why there are other games that are better than MKT and i'll reconsider.
Alright, let's take a look as to why MKT is terrible:
1. The gameplay. The aim of the game is to get points instead of actually winning the race? Why? It's a racing game, there doesn't need to be any other nuance. You cross the finish line first, you win, that's how they work, but MKT says forget all of that, let's give people who can't get first place a way to win because they totally deserve it (NOT!). Also the fact that there's really nothing to it compared to previous games that made the driving so cool and it's soooo slooooowwwwwww.
2. The tracks. Oh my god where do I begin? The majority of tracks they include either get a graphical or design downgrade (GBA tracks being a massive example) and I would rather just play the originals, especially with the aforementioned bland and yet janky driving.
3. Gacha mechanics. WHERE. DO. I. EVEN. BEGIN. HERE. This game either makes sure you barely get stuff you need or forces you to spend hundreds on it, which is just a massive no. I've even had friends who've spent 500 euros on it in a single day, like HOW BAD IS THIS?
So tl;dr, the other MK games all have much more sensible gameplay and not only have better driving mechanics but are much less luck-dependent, they shoot down the majority of tracks they bring back, and is essentially P2W. Enough said
