Probably by winning online races, completing challenges, and earning base-game gold cups. Maybe you can even create your own shops selling special characters or early access to tracks (or whatever you want).

Ok, actual suggegstion: Maybe for some items in the shop, we could have more characters like Pauline, DK jr., Paratroopa, Goomba, Metal/Gold Mario, Honey Queen, R.O.B., Lakitu, or other Mariokart characters that didn't make the cut for MKPC. You could also maybe buy different Balloon designs for battle mode. It'd also be cool if you were able to buy cosmetics for your profile on the forum, such as little stickers/badges to go next to your pfp, titles to go next to or below your name, frames to go around your profile pic, new reactions etc..

Another idea I had is what if there was a battle pass that you'd get points toward by winning online races/battles that would reset every couple of months? It could either include items similar to those that could be found in the shop, coins for the shop, or even a mix of both (similar to Pokemon champions where it starts with stuff like icons, mega stones, pokemon, and cosmetics, but as it goes, starts giving you money and coupons, and then just give you money.)

A cool way to improve this is maybe having it where people can add their custom items to a pool to be featured in a shop/battle pass with approval from a moderator, or with heavy regulation.

This would be a LOT to code I think, so I wouldn't be mad and I don't think everyone who has been talking about it would be either (I beleive they don't but who knows). I do think that if it was implemented so that you have to play online to get these things, it could benefit the site. This could convince people to go online to get these cool in game and out of game rewards, causing people to be online more often, which would improve the site seeing that you can actually go online and there be a good chance someone is or is trying to play for the rewards. Gosh I just went on a long rant there and I wouldn't be suprised if I typed all that in a way no one can understand with 50 typos, but I guess what I'm trying to say, the shop (and my battle pass idea) is not necessary, but could improve the quality of MKPC.

Please do NOT add a shop. I already don't like games that lock everything away and make you buy stuff to actually have fun. Please do NOT turn MKPC into that. Everything's already accessible, so there's no need to lock anything away. "Oh but maybe you could buy new characters!" Well there's already a thing that exists called CUSTOM CHARACTERS. Use them if you want to have more characters! We're not gonna turn Mario Kart into Fortnite! There is no use for a shop! Updates in MKPC should be useful! Not turning the site into an EA game!

Yeah that's my rant.

Not with real money, but with some in game currency that would be easily obtainable from normal gameplay.

This can be useful for challenges that will grant you a new character of the multicup

Maybe by just auto-detecting inappropriate keywords and such, although there is a TOS and it's the moderators job to find that stuff

Add an option to preserve Custom characters for CPUs to use instead of having to add them all manually just for one race whenever you want more than 2 of them in a race.

With that, another toggle that stops two characters with the exact same name appearing (unless there's more racers than there are characters, in which case dupes are fair game)

Suggestion: Chain Chomp (item) When its activated, it drags the user's kart at the same speed of a Red Koopa Shell, as the entire chain chomp acts as a giant red koopa shell, immune to all attacks (except a shock) for around 3-5 seconds.

If someone else uses a Shock, the user is hit with a red shell, a green shell, or a Boomerang Flower, or the user reaches first place, it will continue acting as a red shell, detached from the user for 1-2 seconds, then it will disappear.

Kart sprites do not have to be changed in any way. No additional sprites have to be created, as there is already a chain chomp course obstacle. Those sprites can just be reused.

Second Suggestion: The option to add a winning/losing theme to a kart under an Advanced options tag (not required)
