I'm not that much of a sonic fan, but I do have 2 ideas. Either the resolution of the older consoles weren't able to show his green eyes, or...
the chaos emerald in the sonic games (as a few theories say) is what partly gives sonic his speed powers. If this theory about the chaos emeralds is true, it could be possible that, over time, it also changed something else (the same color as the emerald) - his eye color. In the earlier games, his eyes are a darker color because he had only a few times come into contact with the emerald.
That's the best theory I could come up with.

Yeah, azure roller tires are just roller tires but blue. They have the same stats.

What Beats Rock? is like an infinite version of rock paper scissors where you can use anything! The more times you are able to beat your last answer, the more points you get! There are even custom games made by other players, (for ex: what is cuter than rock, small to large) and you can make your own.

And why no Fire Luigi?

A lot of the newer players are good because they have some experience with other Mario Kart games. I've been playing Mario Kart Wii for fun ever since I was 5 years old, so I have a lot of experience playing Mario Kart already.

It doesn't have 3D built in, but there are some strategies you can use to make a 3D project in the 2D engine. Just look up how.

My quick explanation:
To reverse drift, you press brake instead of go, and turn in the opposite direction. This then makes you do an EXTREMELY sharp turn. The pro players will start a normal drift, and then alternate between normal and reverse drifting to have more control over how sharp they're turning and in turn get better times in time trials.

You also don't have to use a YouTube video for the win theme. You can use one of the preset themes too.

What I always do to make a character:
1. Right click one of the characters' select icon, map icon, and podium art, click "save image as", and save
2. Get the art software you'll use (I use ibis Paint)
3. Open all the parts of the character in said art software and draw on them however you want
4. Find a Youtube video with fitting music for their win theme
5. Go to the character select, custom characters, character creator
6. Input all the different parts, post the character, and...
Done!

To fit the mood better?

If you want to know, to get about half the characters, you get trophies in the main grand prix cups, and to get the rest, you have to get trophies in custom track multicups.

Oh. I wasn't really including the custom tracks, but that would be a LOT more work to do.

I would recommend doing the GBA tracks first, then DS, then SNES if you're having trouble. I did it in that order since I feel like the GBA tracks are easiest and the SNES tracks are hardest.

Yeah... I once (without thinking) attempted to do that shortcut in time trials and got kinda confused.

My favorite color is blue, I main Kirby in Smash Bros., and I like the number 24, which is slightly less funnier than 25. Put it all together, you get BlueKirby24.
