Single red shells already have some issues, and the triple red shell brings even more issues where you throw a red, it goes backwards, it kills one of your reds, leaving you with a single rotating red shell (worse than just pulling one red shell), fortunately this doesn't happen that often

Problem is it can be useless, either going straight into a wall for no reason or hitting a decor with wall collisions (Quick Kernell Pro Track Creation Tip: always disable those, they never play well). Also can be used to scare the people behind you to not catch up.

You can also snipe if you're good. Only problem is that it can backfire if you don't keep your momentum. Also fun fact I made the new bob omb sprite and Wargor did not put me in the website credits :}:}:}

While this item is decent in 2nd, anything behind that is just pretty much trash. Still decently defensive but it won't protect you from all the invincibility items later positions get. Also a good time to mention that if you throw 2 green shells forward in quick succession, they hit each other and if you use a green followed by a mushroom you hit yourself.

Anyway it's just a stronger banana. Really funny to use on tracks with teleporters as you can basically guarantee a hit if another person takes the teleport.

C Tier

Anyway this is the MKPC equivalent of the coin item, as in a mostly useless item so 1st place can't dodge every red shell thrown their way. Can be used to dodge blue shells apparently but it still slows you down and personally haven't had many opportunities to do this strat (wouldn't a banana also be better?)

D Tier

This item is a significantly worse bullet bill, which you get in the same placements as a bullet bill. All it does is prevent you from using any other item, making you stuck with this. It can be good on some tracks if they have a lot of off road, but there aren't that many. It also ruins your bagging. If there was a button to just end it instantly this item would be A tier, maybe even S but as it is now it is complete garbage.

Prevents first place from easily winning every race, and being 2nd/3rd and seeing a blue shell on the minimap is very hype. That being said, getting to pull the blue shell is absolutely miserable. I have had a lot of races ruined because I pull a blue instead of any speed item and just lose. First place is also your last interest if you're all the way in the back. Similar to the shock though, a really fun item to use in team mogis (especially in 3v3/4v4)

High likelihood they dodge too since last has a lot of invincibility items. This item is fun for dicking around, but I wouldn't ever want this in an actual serious race.
https://i.postimg.cc/yNH9RjYQ/bloops.png You know this item is bad when it does worse than a literal shitpost. This item does basically nothing. The dark shell at least hits something, this doesn't. It puts some ink pngs on your screen but it's really easy to see through them. You can also look at the unobstructed minimap or get rid of the effect altogether with a boost. This item had to be removed from CT Lounge because pulling it would just end your race as you get nothing while your enemies enjoy destroying you with shells or zooming past you with shrooms. Really hope this item gets reworked someday so it's actually usable, there's a lot of creative options you could do with the blooper. You could block the minimaps + item wheel, you could make the ink reduce stats, you could make the ink slippery and probably a million other things I haven't thought of.

I really don't get how forum kids think. If you know it's useless, why even suggest?

Make it so occasionally, four random custom tracks will be playable in Online if a session is going on in the base game. This would be a great way to share tracks with other people.

While I do think custom tracks should be in the default online mode, this would be a terrible way of implementing it.

So I have some suggestions that have been mentioned and one entirely new one that I don't think anybody has suggested yet:

-To see who you last raced online (maybe a section for battle mode)

The colour would change depending on how many people there are, from green 1/12 to red 12/12.

For an example, this course has 2 Starting Points. 4 Racers start on the left, the other 4 start on the Right. The only way to achieve this is having the Starting Line somewhere random, then a Teleporter would Teleport 4 Racers to one Starting Point, and the other 4 to somewhere Else.

That would only be relevant if you want to make a track like this, it's useless to make something only 1 in 10.000 tracks (and that's being generous)  will need.

More information about each player in online mode other than just their nickname:

It could also show their VR/BR amount and country flag in smaller text below their nickname.

You already see their amount at the end of every race. Maybe an unpopular opinion from me but country flags would be lame as it would be 70% French, 25% American and 5% everything else, but that's just how I see it ig.

I just thought of this, when recreating DS Peach Gardens, the Chain Chomps have a certain route they follow, however since we can't give the Chain Chomps a certain route, it's a little harder to do so, because they move in a small circle, but that's what I just think. And Let CPU's trick off of ramps in custom tracks.

You can already make a custom bus decor to recreate this, though the bus hitbox is not exactly ideal. Agree with CPUs being able to trick though, anything that makes them less boring to play against is an upvote from me.

I have another Suggestion. Could we change the Grid size from 6X6 to 8X8? 6X6 feels too cramped.

And no, I can't just use CM because I can't make 10X10 QM Styled Tracks in CM.



Also, could Coin Runners and Bob Omb Blast get added? I really wish there were more options in Battle Mode. (Also, in my opinion, I like Coin Runners better than Balloon Battle.)

The whole point of Quick Mode is that it is limiting. Also you can absolutely make bigger QM tracks in Complete Mode, you're just lazy.
More battle modes are unlikely as nobody plays battle mode.

Agree, this game doesn't really do much to encourage actually playing it *cough* forums *cough*
There are lounges on Discord, but there's the issue that many people here are younger than 13. CT Project has SQs which are similar to tournaments though it's rare for more than 8 people to show up.
Ultimately, barely anyone plays the game.

No. This game is already alot more narrow than other MK games so this would make them straight up unavoidable at times.

Bullet is supposed to be strong and I'd say it's pretty balanced. You can edit the item distribution if you want it to be less frequent.

I was creating a circuit in CM and realized that it's really annoying with my circuit style.

I made this topic the old way where I share this suggestion, and I really should add this (perhaps without the tolerance).

I would kill for this but also slightly concerned about it too. I worry that it'll make things pixel perfect, meaning walls won't be diagonal which means you could easily get stuck on any wall.

So when I was time trialling Wii Mushroom Gorge by Keqing, I had to make sure to charge up a mini turbo and release it at the edge, so I could take the beginning shortcut without using mushrooms. It was super annoying to do because every time you finish a lap, the time and stuff will flash on your screen. It was really hard to see what I was doing, so I wish you could toggle the flash or change the duration. This is really small because it's a whole bunch of yap

I also wish you could erase zones (and also whatever else you draw but can't erase); if you make a mistake you have to start over right now (if there is a way please let me know)

Lakitu isn't in the way at all I have no idea what you're talking about.

Also you can sort of edit zones by moving the nodes around. It's not perfect but 'erasing' wouldn't really work either.

I'd explain why this is a dumb suggestion but you clearly don't know how to read anyway so there's no point.

What if we could customize items for tracks, cups, and multicups. What I mean is like being able to change item appearance rates to your liking. Also being able to make custom items by combining items. For example, maybe you want to replace the triple bananas with 5 bananas like in MK64. All you'd do is set the triples appearance rate to 0, then make the custom 5 bananas thing. (also, just because, you could make a special item that gives you 10 shocks cause why not) It'd also be neat if you could do like the decors in complete mode, where you can change stuff like the sprites and maybe even the size. This way, you recreate items like the GIANT Banana, Bowser Shell, or GIGA Bob-omb from Mario Kart Tour.

I almost agreed but then you made your suggestion longer than 2 sentences. This is just convoluted and knowing the people here can't even figure out CM they wouldn't understand this either.

I disagree. People are allowed to voice their opinions and some things just are not good for the game. Removing forum ranks for example is almost unanimously agreed upon to be a good change.

For GP mode sure, but VS would just be annoying. Also not sure how this would work as many decors are set to not move at all until the race begin.

2. No, this would make frontrunning way too overpowered. There's also likely huge lag problems with 'melee items' in online mode, imagine someone using super horn just teleports nearby you.

This suggestion turned out to be very popular!

How custom trick animations would work:
In the character editor, you'd have an option to include a three (or five, Wargor's choice) frame image that would play when tricking. Not choosing a file would result in the default animation being used.

This can actually be bypassed by disabling JavaScript for this specific command, so Japanese characters can be used, inappropriate words, but you have to use Dev Chromium, which is generally not used even though Chrome is pretty much a Google clone.

This is already a thing if I'm not mistaken (not too sure though), also can easily get bypassed.

6. Super Horn. I think that it actually may fit the game. If used, it goes behind the vehicle like bananas and shells do. After pressing a use button again, it makes a sound wave around you which makes opponents stunning and destroys an item, even blue and dark shells.

7. Boo item. But it should be exclusive for custom distributions and challenges.

8. Dark Shell should be available to be chosen in item-related settings in challenge editor.

If you add an extra decor in challenge editor of the type not present on the track originally (I mean, you add a Goomba, but outside the challenge this circuit doesn't has a Goomba), you can't choose such decor if you're making a "destroy # decors" challenge or a "do something without touching any Krabby Patty" one as for now. This should be fixed.

10. User profile has sections for last forum messages, best circuits, best challenges, best circuit comments, last completed challenges, best Time Trial records and last followed topics. What about a section for users' created playable characters? It could also consist of two tabs: one for public racers and other for unlockable ones.

11. Ability to make a description for custom characters and even comment them.

12. I concocted it right now: same with 10 and 11, but for custom decors. We could also have a page listing custom decors like we have a page for custom characters. Said decors also could be rated.

13. Custom item boxes. They could have options like: custom image, custom map icon, time to respawn. We could also make an item-specific item box giving you only one specific item. By default, that item box would look like a fake item box with an item icon in the middle. Also, moving item boxes. Now imagine the horror of you-know-what shell only item boxes scattered through the whole circuit.

I have a request and it is to add another type of leaderboard and that this one be of the best times in time trials no reverse drift. This is so that people like me who play on cell phones have more opportunities to finish, for example, in the top 10 on a track.

For example, yesterday i played a 1v1 with a 30k vr player, and i won 3 races in a row (+8,+8,+7 vr respectively), before losing ONE match and i lost 300vr for that alone. It should not be so unfair.

What's even the point of quick mode if you want every feature from complete mode in it anyway?

1. Tweak the Bob-omb so when you're trailing it behind you, the explosion doesn't hurt you like in MKW. It's always annoying to get ready to use it, but then the person behind you hits it and screws up your entire Grand Prix.
2. Add more themes to Track Builder. Right now we're missing GBA Mario Circuit (it's listed but is actually Peach Circuit), Bowser Castles 2 & 4, and Banshee Boardwalk.
3. It be nice to get the N64 and GCN retro tracks from DS like Baby Park, Yoshi Circuit, Choco Mountain, Moo Moo Farm etc. I'd even be fine if they were just in quick building mode if it's too hard to make them tracks.
4. A bigger space to work with in Quick Builder, and cannon ramps like on Waluigi Pinball.
Sorry if this list is a bit long, but I could live without most of these (please give us Banshee Boardwalk in track builder)

NGL In Races You Might Skip A Checkpoint So It Would Be Fitting To Use Them In Battle Mode.

Feather wouldn't be good in battle mode either as that would allow you to camp on walls.

More about the Bob-omb. If you're Mushrooming and one explodes on you, You get sent FLYING. My issue is that this can screw up certain tracks. For example, I was losing on GV3, so I was trying to cross the line as fast as I could. A There was a cluster of CPUs, and one of them whipped out a Bob-omb, which also hit me. It sent me flying to the right, off the track, but when lakitu picked me up, he put me down back in the middle of the track. Here's a map to the track so you can see what I mean: There are probably other tracks this could occur on like maybe the SNES and GBA Bowsers castles, but it happened on GV3. It'd be nice if the effects of the explosions were changed not to do this.

I think that's a bug where you bump against a cpu and get hit by a bomb at the same time. Hope it doesn't get fixed though as it's really funny.

Personally I think we should have different options for cc when starting a Grand Prix like MK8DX.
I don't mind not having 50 or 100, but I'd like to see 200cc and possibly even mirror 150 if that's possible.

I guess it'd also be more challenge if you wanted to 100% the Grand Prix's because then you'd have to get a gold trophy on every cup on every CC

Honestly don't know how to feel about this. Seems useless as everyone plays 150 anyway.

maybe you can create a new route for reverse(e.g in airship fortress reverse when you are driving up that tower,there is no cannon to shoot you to the cannon in normal mode,so say you make from that tower's entrance you drop down to another airship(which is connected with the next part of the track that is possible in reverse).Like how MKW does with some of its tracks.

Day 1 - Open da gifts: Solid first challenge, nothing crazy but not bad either

Day 2 - Open da boxes: Kinda similar to day 1 so wish they were spaced out more, but still a cool challenge

Day 3 - Drive in the pyramid without having fun: Well this quickly went south. Boring as hell and slightly rng dependant, not to mention the track being 5 laps long making it last over 3 minutes of doing absolutely nothing

Day 4 - Mario Circuit 1 but fast: Not much to say other than it just being a very fun challenge, I am a good reviewer I swear

Day 5 - Coins on da beach: Feels like filler, this is the most average challenge of all time. Boring quick mode track and the coins aren't really put into any clever spots either (common quick mode L)

Day 6 - Dodge stuff as Toadette: I like dodging stuff but this was pretty easy, also Monty Moles are not good decors for a challenge like this since they just pop out of nowhere

Day 7 - Collect coins in da sand pit: Nice short challenge, no negatives to say

Day 8 - Coins on da beach (but good): Basically everything Day 5 wishes it could be. Coins are all put in clever spots

Day 9 - Racial war against slimes: Cool challenge, however the slime decors are probably the worst pick for a challenge like this since they can just despawn at any moment (yes it's technically not rng, but no it does not matter)

Day 10 - Coins at da roca picudas: Probably my favourite coin challenge, requires some nice routing and you actually need to use the time trial mushrooms which are often ignored in challenges

Day 11 - Shy Guy is going to die: fun challenge, I cheesed this one so bonus points for that

Day 12 - Big Maze: Another one I cheesed, the fact Wargor programmed it so you couldn't just take the image was really cool and I felt INCREDIBLE when I eventually outsmarted him, even though this probably took more time than just beating it normally

Day 13 - Commit robbery to kill fish: Really clever pow usage and hitting the cheep cheeps can be a bit challenging as well, especially if you're stupid enough to go for the first 5 cheep cheeps instead of the 5 cheep cheeps that are in a straight line. What really hurts this challenge tho is the fact it's quick mode. I'm fine with quick mode if it's for a challenge but the stupid 1 pixel wide holes on shy guy beach makes this really annoying

Day 14 - Dumbass puzzle: It was a cool idea I guess? I brute forced my way through this one ngl, wouldn't have figured out the solution if other people didn't tell me. But even when you know the solution, there's a 30 second time limit so you don't even have time to think.

Day 15 - Bro ate too much: Probably the most infamous challenge lmao. This challenge is hard as hell ain't gonna lie and let to several debates on challenge difficulty in the Discord lol. As much as I hated this, I honestly really like this challenge. It's not rng dependant which most "difficult" challenges tend to be and it's nice to have something hard as most of the challenges in this calendar are incredibly easy

Day 16 - Impossible possible puzzle: I like 'puzzle tracks' like this so I had fun, even though I already beat it earlier so it was a breeze for me

Day 17 - POW: Incredible challenge, really fun and cool and original. Excellent practice for pow dodging if people still aren't too familiar with the item (it's been 3 months man learn the game) and also a nice bonus unlock of an INCREDIBLE custom character. Challenge does have some rng but if you're skilled enough you should be able to dodge pow every time, though it can get quite hard at times when several pows stack on top of each other

Day 18 - Jump on da boos: Nice little platforming challenge that some people apparently struggled with lol, not much to say on this one it's just good

Day 19 - Cursed boobs or something: 'Battle mode bosses' is one of the worst genre of challenges imo, it's easily the worst case of rng = difficulty in this game, anyway I beat this boss almost entirely by standing still lmfao

Day 20 - Extreme difficulty king boo race: Neat idea but the restrictions can be negated very easily lol

Day 21 - Racial war against snowmen: Another glorified coin collection mission but still a good one, can get pretty tense as the challenge goes on

Day 22 - World's somewhat difficult game: I like dodging balls. Jokes aside, one of my favourite challenges. My only criticism is that the red balls can spawn right in front of your face which isn't very fair

Day 23 - Drive 4 tracks without having fun: Oh boy where do I even begin on this one, I am baffled someone thought this was a good idea. They really just picked one of the worst challenges (day 3) and said "Now you're gonna do it 4 times", it feels more like a joke honestly. This takes like 8 minutes to beat on a succesful attempt. I'm starting to understand why you forum kids always yap about things unrelated to MKPC, because this game is incredibly boring without reverse drifting. Add some rng dependancy on top of that and a very poorly programmed track (Rainbow Road) and you got yourself the worst challenge of the calendar.

Day 24 - Like 100 challenges in one: Luckily we don't end on a bad note as the worst challenge gets followed by the best challenge. I won't go in depth much as people still need to beat it, but I really like how broken this track is. It feels more like a sandbox and I hope Tox doesn't patch it ngl

Overall thoughts on the calendar: most challenges were pretty good but there naturally were some stinkers as well. The fact that all these challenges have to be possible without reverse drifting does kinda suck though, shows that there's some big skill gaps in this community. Hopefully we could possibly get an easy advent calendar next year, with a second "hard mode" calendar or something.

Anyway ggs if you read it this far, hope you'll note some things down if you're planning to make some challenges yourself (maybe it'll appear next year)

What are some replacements for paint.net? I'm on a stupid chromebook so it won't run a bunch of file types. Paint.NET doesn't work bc it has to on a Windows device, as well as being .exe, which just doesn't work on Chromebooks. Ones that work

Mario Kart World is being worked on but will be a seperate multicup. It will likely have the same people though.
